Yeah my stepping is CAAOC 0352 XPMW and I've had another 3000+ with the same stepping that did 2.55GHz with 1.7v on AIR.

I would choose for this one :

CG NewCastle

Am looking for one myself, because it has got the real juicy MP 11 :banana: :toast:
It also got improved memory compatebility wich is very nice when it comes to BH-5 in 512 MB sticks !!!
It also preforms a bit better at default than its clawhammer 1 MB brother.

When it comes to week dates always choose the most recent !!

The color doenst realy matter.

You can recognice a typical core as stated below :

Yep thats true the 3000+ CG is easy to recognice but with the 3200+ you must look for the 2.2 Ghz (512 Kb Cache) version.

As you can see in 90 % of the normal daily used appz it is a bit faster.
Sure 3D Mark/Pifast gives a bit higher scores but im more interesed in the encoding of DVDs for example and gaming etc. and i know that in these cases Mhz is more effective than cache.
The change of getting higher clocks with the Newcastle 3200+ is much bigger.

Ill bet a 2800Mhz Clawhammer is slower than an 3000 Mhz Newcastle ;)

But this is something we have to encounter ourselfs in the next few weeks.

I hope i get my 3200+ newcastle tommorrow together with my brand new and modded EPoX 8KDA3+ :D:D

Interesting, I didn't see any compairisons for encoding. If you have a link for that it would be great. I would also think that most games would follow 2001se, which clock for clock you lose 700 points and it takes the extra 200mhz to draw almost even. from what I've seen you'd have to overclock to around 200mhz higher with the NC. Meaning your 2.85 NC would be on par with a 2.65-2.7 CL. If you have some encoding test and stuff it might be interesting to see the difference.

I will look for a couple of screenies with encoding differences.

If you look here at the Pifast link below you see the score of the 3400+ from Z3us and my 3000+

Well if you see the scores than you will see that it isnt on pair with the Newcastle even though it is a 1 MB around 2.6 Ghz.

I think a 1 MB version will improve the scores on the same speeds by 1 / 1.5 Sec.

Well, I kinda want A CPU that's overclocks the best when i'll put it under the prommy.

So, the chosen one is 3200+ NewCastle CG or 3200+ ClawHammer CG? (No way i'm going for C0.. compatibility with 512Mb sticks is critical for me).

I hope this will finally let me break the 3 ghz stable barrier :D :P
