Thanks Andy. ;)
I've been exploring some new grounds today, 41K was on the cards but took my poor Opty 146 to run at 3.2GHz, for now i'm satisfied.

Yes. A 1.55V GPU mod.Quote:

The core did 630+MHz on stock volts and cooling (now under water) so I am thinking that these bastards are overheating and limiting my overclock.
I just found a nice mod on how to cool them though (funnily enough, it involves no modding :p). http://img132.imageshack.us/img132/8882/img04552eh.jpg
So lets see how this goes!! :D

I need a better CPU to hit higher scores though. All on air.
No need to remove any resistors, just a wire soldered between ground and the known +0.2V spot.Quote:

Yes its cooling the IC's.Quote:

I guess I'll have to get the acetone out and make it 1.40V if this doesnt work.Quote:

The bottom card went smooth, but the top one, the damn ink kept drying up on me, so it doesn't look as nice, but it appears to have worked fine. I like the quick release tape tabs also. :D I also sinked my memory, MOSFET(s) and the memory controller IC chips while I was at it..
as for the results, so far so good.. The core temps went up about 4c or 5c each, not too bad. they idle at about 36c and 37c now.. Coolbits was :banana::banana::banana: for OCing with this vmod, it would fail the "test" if I even moved 1mhz higher, so I decided to try powerstip. That worked! I was able to get good solid runs at 635mhz on the cores.. 650 would lock on deep freeze. DOH! Oh well.. I'm going to play some Oblivion now and test 635 thoroughly.. I have my memory at 1700 (850*2) also..
Wow you have fantastic core m8, 700mhz @ only 1.4v ATItool stable.Wow again.I can hit 666 @ 1.4v Atitool free and 700mhz 3dmark benchable, @ 1.5v 680mhz stable and 720mhz benchable.You GPU is great, i wish i have yours:rolleyes:Quote:

I tried the pencil trick for the mem and went from 608Ohm down to 575Ohm, so voltage went up from 2.02V to 2.09V but mem overclock decreased instead. (~860MHz)
Cleaned the resistor and now i'm back at 893-895MHz for the mem.
I hope some more burn in will make 900 fully stable.

Dont mind the low clocks on GPU coz i was only testing how far can i push th memory:banana:

Anyway heres some SLI playin
this is how i modded the card as i have only one waterblock

This box cooler pwns any VF900cu as the card modded to 1.55V doesnt go over 58°C when on load :toast:

With this settings I play games, tomorow i will try higher clocks for the CPU and the card and some tweaks.
I have a Gainward 7800GS+ which in effect is a 7900gt for agp.
Is the 1.4V mod described by Zeus applicable or is there another way....?
I want to breach that 10k 3d5 barrier... it's nagging me....:)
Nice work Shark-357! I did really like your mod :D
I' thinking of doing the same mod with my card, with my Athlon X2 boxed-cooler.
Can you descripe detailed what you did?
Thx m8:)
Well mod is preaty easy .
Strip the card and the cooler, then line up cooler and the card mark mounting holes with an alcohol pen and just drill the holes in the box cooler .
U will also have to saw off two edges that prevent u to install two ram sinks as u can see from the picture .
For mounting is best to use the same springs as for water blocks.
nice

Should be pushing 840/850Mhz with 1.7/1.8vcore.
Havent done vmem mod yet.

New card arrived, XFX 7900GT 520M and so far its managed 620mhz core stock cooled/volts and 850 mem. Seems happy enough looping 3d mark 2003 at these speeds so far....
SLI action to come!

the memory run like a beast (950mhz) with no VGPU Mod, after the Vgpu mod, its hard to run it like it was.... like i need to mod it too...:D:D
one more thing, the 1.55v on Gpu help the mem to oc better at coolbits autodetect. before Vgpu mod it stuck at 784mhz, after gpu mod at 800. still cant reach 950+...
So you mean after the VGU mod, mem overclock went down but coolbits auto detect freqency for the mem went up?
How did the mem clock with 1.4Vgpu?
yup, thats what happen...
1.4,1.45,and 1.5v correspond the same with default Voltage, 784mhz on coolbits... only 1.55v run the mem to 800 on coolbits...
