tried higher vcore for 2700mhz.. seems a bit low to me :)
Its not about low vcore, but too high temps. I have tried to raise vcore up to 1.9V, but it works even worse because temps raise even higher.Quote:

you sure the evap head isnt bended or non flat or what have you?...havent heard of that bad contact between heatspreader and cpu.. :)
Evap temps are good (too good  ) and contact between evaporator and heatspreader is perfect. Because chip overclocks so well with stock cooling, I cant really believe that contact between heatspreader and core is bad :(Quote:

Dunno whats wrong with it, but I selling the chip away and getting a prescott instead :D
I'm testing my AN50R with a K8NNXP 940 bios
@bias_hjorth
your german ist ok the first sentences was right
hmm ok i think about this to change it r134 out and r404 in !!
but thanks for your answer
willkommen.. :D
I'll be interested to see what comes of this :)Quote:

What gains are you expecting?
Did you have to do anything special to get this Gigabyte BIOS to work with the AN50R?
Up to 2.55 SuperPI and 3dmark stable :D
2.6 gives me a round error in SuperPI which means more volts right? Gona Vmod this weekend hopefully :)
Cooling=stock HS with SF2
Good luck, you crazy dude :DQuote:

no gain, a bios K8NHA+ is bestQuote:

awdflash ****.bin /f = reprogram the boot block /cc = clear cmos
You're using a Biostar BIOS on the AN50R? That's nuts. Interesting, though... what made you think to do that? What kind of cross-board problems are there? Any advantages?
Just to let you guys know.. NEVER Buy a A64 2800+.. Have had 2 of them and neither lasted an hour before Dying..
First one lasted 1 hour Then would not Post.. Some slight Overclocking...
The second one lasted 15 Minutes and was at Stock the whole time
At that point I would be looking for a new mobo or psu or something else.Quote:

Nope.. My 3200+ has been through Hell and Back and still keeps running.. That includes a Vcore as High as 2V and Vdimm as high as 4V and it still runs great... BTW, the Mobo is a Shuttle AN50R..Quote:

The 2800+ 's just did not make it..

Hi!
BIOS of K8NHA Pro was put into AN50R. a result -- 3019MHz -- superpi -- 28s -- it was able to obtain . However, K8NHA Pro can obtain 28s by 2970MHz.
Sick.. WC with a a64 right?
great to sick the japanese join the sickness.. Now is gonna be whicked :)
congrats :toast:Quote:

I get 37s at 2190MHz with a K8NHA PRO bios for my shuttle
I had 2 K8NHA PRO and both are dead...

Here's my A64 @ 2.56GHz with 1.7v on AIR @ 39c. I need to rebench because I'm on water now and as soon as I get my 226W TEC I'll see what I can get out of it.
That's nice clocks on air. Can you tell me the stepping of the cpu? I'm looking for a new oc-beast (again), to put under phase-channge. That would be my third A64. :)Quote:

Max clock (unbenchable)
http://users.bigpond.net.au/fxr91/bench/maxclock.jpg
Vapo LS (unmodded), AN50-R (vmodded), vdimm @3.6, vcore 1.95
This is using OCZ PC3500EB 256MB (2.5-4-4-8)
Max 1:1 is 270HTT (unstable) :)
Going to be doing more testing later to see just where I can get to :)
I heard that A64 3200+ CG are the best overclockers...
Is that true? :stick: if so, what is the full stepping of these CPU's?
Another question: what is the differnce between a 3200+ CG and a 3200+ C0?
and what is a DTR chip?
thanks.
A DTR is a "DeskTop Replacement" chip. It is an A64 with the IHS removed, meaning you have to do some modifying of your cooling solution to touch the core as it sits lower than the IHS.
From what I know, the only real difference between the C0 and the CG stepping of cpu's is that the memory compatability was improved with the CG.
Great, thanks!Quote:

I heard also that there is A difference between the chache (512Kb/1Mb) and the multi (11x/10x), is that true?
Oh, and what about overclocking capabilities?
(This is for personal knowledge only, im very satisfied with my chip ;)).
Still tweaking.
Stabil at 3340-3360 now.
