And you want to know why this is? Its because your core can't take the voltage. Thats why mostly these cores are XL's instead of XT's because they can't handle the voltage that well. For instance my limit is 1.275 that gives problems right away, 1.25 I can stay at for a while but issues will arise from it. 1.225 is stable for me but I play it a little safe and just go with 1.2 right now to give me that little extra room to play with.

i see in ur sig that ur clocks are back up!

do u think 2.1 V's on the mem is safe?

cuz ranger in the ocforums.com fried his sopposedly. i dont want that happening to me. but that may have been a 1 time case.

I've been benching mine at 2.269v/760Mhz and playing for hours at 2.165v/700Mhz no prob, if only the core would sing along :slapass:

I think it safe. I've been using 2.1 for nearly as long as I've had the card (so back mid november). I've gone up to 2.2 for my 730Mhz clocks.

I tested my HIS XL before, 650,70 / 630 with stock cooler and 1,2v. I don't think I will go higher, the temps are really high. I'll pu my waterblock on it tomorrow. I got 9334 3dmarks on my 24/7 config (that is alot of services an cpu at 11x250)

I don't understand why my mems clocks so bad, 650 gives alot of artis in windows, and 700 is messed up =) I suspect that I may have 1,6ns chips or that the timings are too tight. I am using ATI-Tool.

Been running 2.165v for ~3-4 hours gaming sessions many times without a hiccup. Not on stock cooling tho', using vf700cu here.

My ram won't start artifacting before i reach 760Mhz using ATI Tool, i bet stock cooler is killing yours even if it didn't hurt my ram's oc as bad as what you experienced.

1,9v?

I had a theory that the stockcooler heats up the memories, the air at the exhaust is hot, my core fullloads at 70+. I will notice tomorrow if they clock more when they are naked...

I just got a Connect3d X1800XL in for some playing. Hooked it up into my water set up,opened the windows for a nice 6c ambient and started playing around a bit. So far i have managed to hit 630mhz with just 1.1v, scoring 8100 in 05. Haven't touched the mem yet either.

darn, my maze4 needs a new top to fit, and my mems are 2.0ns :( I thought that XL had 1,4ns and some 1,6. What does your cards have?

Nah, not with 1.9v :p: I dig up my notes and found that i was in fact using 2.80v (and not the 2.269 i mentionned previously) with 2.001vddq for 760Mhz with very light artifacting so yesterday i tested a knew high with 2.85v and no more arties :D

Damn didn't think the software would allow for that high. Mine does 730 @ 2.2V never really tested higher.

You don't wan't to use overclocker for volts, it's for clocks only but then again, i just don't see the point except for Mhz braggin' rights cos' even if it allows higher clocks the scores are horrible, i'm getting incredibly bad perfs with overclocker.

I will compare overclocker.exes timings and maxclock to the standard one, Iam sure that the standard timings are better, but I want to test...

They gave me a ~300Marks bonus from the 5.13s in 05, didn't try 06 with the 6.2s, CPU tests make me sick.
