That was fixed though by removing the battery and clearing CMOS for 15 minutes. After that the settings stayed. I also heard that the Abit uGuru program in windows could cause the settings to return to default too.

I only really saw a couple of issues with the Abit, using my X2 and 2x1gig Ballistix I could only run 2t even with optimized defaults loaded. I tried BIOS 13,16, and 17 all the same. Also it would hang during post about 50% of the time requiring a power off reset. Also using the X2 I only had the option of up to 1.7vcore and I needed 1.725 or more to obtain max OC on the X2 that I had with the DFI

Major what did your ballistix reach in that board. Aside from 2T. I just pulled my hair out trying to get 4 x 256mb of pc4000 to run at rated speeds and no go. I'm in touch with crucials tech support now which btw they are very cool and aren't like most mobo companies which state overclocking is not supported.......Hopefully they will help me through this issue, if not my son got an upgrade to 1 gig of memory as its now running at ddr 510 at 2.5-3-3-6 in his board....

To be honest Chew* I didn't spend any time trying to max out the memory. I did all of the OCing with 12x multi, I had it stable at 253mhz but that was the max my X2 would do with 1.7vcore so not sure where the memory would top out with a lower multi. I did try a couple of times at 11x and 270mhz but wouldn't boot so I didn't try anymore.

So does that mean the board is still shi# cos I got one comming in a few days is it going to be worth the hassel of pulling my rig apart to install it??

Well I pulled my rig apart 3 seperate times to try the Abit, If your changing from the DFI NF4 you have in your sig then I can save you some time and effort and say DON'T EVEN BOTHER ! lol

i need a new motherboard .. should i get the fatality sli board or just the an8 sli board .. is the only difference .. besides the LEDS .. is that the an8sli has a heatpipe .. where the fatality has the fans ?? i dont really need the uGURU thing up front .. also do both boards have the fans over the ram ??? the difference in price is like 70 dollars

just get the Ultra board and get into it...i smashed my DFI scores with my Abit board....i can't run 2T but ut seems TCCD guys have more luck...i am working on getting some TCCD again to test

I have a friend who's bought one, and he's had some grief from the mobo from day one.

He's finally figured his way 'round it for the most part, but there's one issue he's had since trying a couple bios's to get his setup stable.

He's now limited to 3.4vdimm, and hasn't had 3.55 since he changed from the original bios that it came with, and of course he didn't save that one when he flashed lol

So, is there a known good beta bios for the fatality sli mobo out there that anyone's used and can recommend, that definitely has 3.55vdimm?

BIOS13 is great for me....has 3.55vdimm...i refuse to flash to the other bull:banana::banana::banana::banana: bioses until they get the voltage it's advertised with

well until i get some GSkill LEs :)

good news hey....we have a FX57 to drool over....you better not get any sleep and do some serious OCing when you pop that monster CPU in......and be gentle with Abit....you're probably best off using higher multies...i've seen plenty of people run 1T with TCCD and not too high on RAM up to 280 or so... 1GB kit that is.....

Got ticked off today since my abits still picky with memory and i fried my sons fx 5700 U so I went to a computer show and grabbed a 6600 gt for his. While i was there i was talking to the guy about some 1 gig ram kits he shows me this crud called super talent thats pc 3200 cas 2.5 for $100. I say screw it i'll give it a shot why not mine as well buy all kinds of memory till i find something that runs 1T w/2x 512mb worse case scenario Ill toss it in my fatality when I give it to my wife. Well the farking abit loves this stuff. booted up fine and Its running 2-3-3-6-1t W/ 2x512MB. this is the best value ram i've ever bought. I didn't OC it yet but i highly doubt it will go far at cas 2 as its a little warm with only 2.6v but for stable everyday memory it rox!!

well well well....it seems I am getting close to running 1T....just been messing with some G.Skill ZX Value sticks and these results are in 1T....cannot wait for the LE sticks to come

I got my AN8 Ultra to run my Crucial Value Ram 2x1G at 230 3-3-3-8 1T. I don't appear to have the 1T problem, or at least I don't think so. I likey this board. So much better than the DFI the blew up.
