I'm still moving forward with the build although progress has been slow as of late. I've invested too much money in this project to just drop it, and like many have said, I'd like to see it become a reality in its final form.
Just a short update for now.
Some time last year, I had discussions with Nils at MDPC about a purple sleeving. Purple is one of the original color themes of refleXion although it's been used very little to this point. The original intent was to have the inside of refleXion sort of simulate what a galaxy looks like, and galaxies are often made up of purplish-like vapors.
Nils informed me at the time that MDPC didn't carry this color, but that he would possibly look into it. After about six months of development, I'm happy to say that purple is now a reality and can be purchased in the MDPC-X store.
Now before I show it, a disclaimer. This color is very difficult to accurately capture on camera as it changes a LOT based on the intensity and type of light that it is under. In some cases, it can come off looking a little 'pinkish' instead of purple, but when viewed in person it's a very nice shade of purple. I've not yet perfected how to shoot it, but I've decided to share some early shots with you guys, anyway. At this time, I'm thinking that most of the cables will be sleeved in black, and there will be traces of purple lined throughout various parts of the build to give it some color like shown in the second shot below.
So I now introduce MDPC purple which I'm told only two individuals in the world currently have:

I'm not yet sleeving the PSU until I have a few more components installed. The reason is because I'm being very picky with the color scheme and want to have the right colored cables going to the right places. In the coming days, I hope to have the Zero G Chamber and all other components installed which at that point I can have an idea of which cables that I want to sleeve what color. I'm also waiting on my new GPU blocks to come in from DangerDen within the next week. DangerDen's support on this project continues to be outstanding, and I thank them for working with my budget.
definitely looks pinkish in the pics but i think it looks great like that honestly..cant wait til this is finished or at least more pics up to be jealous over :)
Purple sleeving is cool and MDPC is the best. :D
Maybe take darker pictures without flash and you'll get more of the purple color?

Yeah, that goes for me too. One bad psu has set my build back some two to three months now. I've just now received my third psu (yes THIRD):shakes: Keep it going Xion and i'll always be watching.:up:Quote:

Geez, guys. I'm so sorry so much time has gone by without any updates. A lot has happened in my life in the past 6 months, and I feel that I'm a better person because of it.
A confession.
For reasons I've yet to discover, I encounter these 'stages' in life where I become completely obsessed with something for a period of about 6 months and then, often, become burned out on it and end up almost disliking it in the end. And that's sort of what's happened with refleXion--as much as I hate to say it. In fact, I told my good friend Mark, who helped me with the side panel design, that it was a key reason that I pushed myself so hard day after day. I was concerned that if I ever did take a breather that I may never get back to it.
But..
As I look back through this thread, at all the awesome support that I have received from so many, including a batch of very skilled modders whom I very much respect, and at work I've done that I can finally see through a set of eyes not nearly as critical as before, I'm fully satisfied with what's been done thus far. And that's important, because I couldn't do that before. I was never satisfied with anything, and that's one of the reasons (along with financial concerns) that I held off on finishing refleXion. It became a burden instead of fun, because I was so critical of myself and in refining every little thing and making it perfect. It's in my nature to be this way as I am a perfectionist. But I just let it get the best of me and sap all the fun out of this. I acted in the one way you cannot act. The wonders of the imagination and of creativity do not work as well through a magnifying glass.
I feel bad for my fans and my sponsors that refleXion isn't finished yet. But most of all, I feel bad because I still believe in refleXion and the original vision that I had for it that has carried through to this point. I don't want to see it left unfinished. My fans, my sponsors, refleXion.. deserves better.
I have an ache in my gut that I haven't had in about 4-5 months that's telling me it's time to get back to work on refleXion. I have some free time this weekend, and that's what I plan to do. Thanks so much to those of you who continue to offer your kind words of support. I can't promise you that refleXion will be finished next week, next month, or even by the end of the year. I'm tired of putting a timeline out there that continues to be passed by. I'm just going to focus on having fun with refleXion again, because that's the reason that I began it in the first place. Everything else will fall into place. :up:

Xion, can understand you in that feeling, I think anybody who has so much passion in the beginning and for some reason was stopped by any circumstances has it. But you have to find the powers to finish it no matter how to do that - rereading your thread or looking at others beautifull creations, that's the way to go!
You can be sure I am supporting you on this and really looking forward to see refleXion up and running! :up:
As long as you enjoy what you're doing Xion, that's the most important think. If you think it's best to take a break sometimes, go ahead. We might be a bit upset, but as long as you're having fun, we know you'll return eventually ;).
Just read through your worklog xion, have to say that is some truley beautiful work. Glad to hear you havent lost all interest in the project, really looking forward to seeing the finished product, I own a cosmos S case myself and have just started some modding:yepp:. Anyway keep up the good work look forward to some more updates:up::up::up::up:.
I can relate to some of this. On my Zenith mod, I got to the point that I was tired of working on it. I worked so feverishly that I had to push myself to get finished. With my current Quintessence mod, I'm just wishing I was further along than I am. I simply haven't had much time to work on it lately. But at least I am enjoying the journey much more this time. As I mentioned before, I determined to take this mod at a much more measured pace, and I have to say that all in all it has worked. I look forward to working on it instead of dreading it.
Now if I could just say the same thing for my unfinished porch that I need to finish rebuilding...
Cant wait to see some updates, just browsed through all 44 pages.. loving this rig mate!

You don't know me but I've been reading through this thread over the last 4 days, and read most of what's been posted. What you've accomplished is fantastic. Not many people would have the patience to do half of what you've done let alone all of it. Even if for any reason you never finished it, you can seriously hold your head up and be proud. I'll never be a modder, I don't possess the knowledge or requisite skills for such a mammoth task as your brave endeavour. But what you've done is inspire me to maybe try a few smallish mods of my own, like just attempting sleeving for instance. Or even getting a basic theme going in my modest pc like simply changing all my fans to one colour and brand instead of the rainbow colour scheme (or 'kids crayon' book :p:) I have.
I would say take your time. Although everyone here including myself are really looking forward to seeing the end result, don't put yourself under pressure (maybe you do, maybe you don't, I'm not sure) to keep updates coming just to keep people happy, because perhaps that contributed to you burning yourself out and not enjoying the ride as much? Only work on the project when you're inspired because then the magic will happen again for you. Good luck man and remember, always HAVE FUN with Reflexion :)
And a little quote for you that id software often use when they're working on a new game .. "it's done when it's done" ;)

I too have this same issue. That is why I always try to do the work as fast as possible. So I don't get burned out on it. This is the reason my CNC router is still not done after 2 years.
I hope you get your drive back and finish what looks to be an amazing build.
