Thanks for the endorsement.
The gremblins are really out to get me with this board. :(
I just turned it on and there is all kinds of crazyness. I tracked it down to ... on the Power BIOS page - the FSB Termination voltage is in RED and says 1.84 ... also ... the Southbridge voltage is in RED and says 2.16. I reloaded the factory motherboard BIOS default settungs but they won't change. I tried setting them manually but they still won't change. And the board won't boot into the OS half the time.
Just like that progress takes a dive.
Even though the OCZ RAM has been giving errors, the motherboard shouldn't do that, should it?
:(

3lfk1ng I was wondering what you run you 8gb ram at? and what other ppl have gotten their 8gb ram to
need some advice here to go higher.
running a P4 540J, ES chip. cant seem to go higher than 16x240 or 14x300,
multi sets the rams to run at 942mhz, give or take a little. definitely within proven limits.
for 14x300, i've already raised the following voltages.
vcore 1.5
cpu pll 1.62
NB core 1.63
FSB term 1.60
SB 1.15
SB 1.5v 1.6
PSU is a corsair VX550w.
i just received the rampage and im looking for the newest drivers.
the once i got are from last year, but looking in diferent websites (intel,...) and forums i cant find anything clear about it.
which are the latest drivers?? where can i find them??
i wonder if the NB and SB come all together in the same chipset driver...
thank you
thank you man; i just go it.
the ones i have left is the LAN drivers. there are so many in asus website and i wonder if all are necesary and where to get the latest version.
any clue in this??
1000mhz for 1:1 ratio.

Is someones still using this board with kentsfield? I'm looking for some hint to get this cpu stable past 3.68 Ghz. My actual config is 460x8, but can't manage to get one single more Mhz out of it, tried do add one and two notches to any voltages, and with differents combinations of gtl's, but didn't managed to get anything stable.
So i'm wondering if someone has a template to post/suggest for a stable config with Q6600/Q6700 > 465 or 470x8
thanks
My maximus formula have some problem and I will soon replace it by the rampage (I ordered one just yesteday evening). Wich bios is the best with this mobo with a qx9650 ?
no more final bios for this bord? 0308 is the finish suport from asus?
it's been a while since i have run this board but had some dry ice to kill and an E8600 that isn't support by the 0219 BIOS so the 1M boost is there. just like the first day i got this board, 580FSB was a piece of cake...

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...8_5798-1sm.png
i then threw in an E8400 to test the max FSB with a lowered multi but 600FSB was about the 1M limit. the 1M above was on the 333 Strap with a PL of 9 and a couple phases pulled into 8. voltages were all pretty low with the exception of vNB which was set to 1.71v in the BIOS. stock cooling, as it was out of the box.
Im running a 3370 on this board, have not updated BIOS since I got it about two months ago.
Dropped the chip in, went straight to 3.6, ran it crunching for about 8 hours with no issues, jumped to 3.8, ran that for about 6 hours, now @ 4.01.
keeps telling me I need to update BIOS, which brings me to my question.
I have been keeping tabs on this thread as I own the board.
I have seen many BIOS versions talked about..........frankly I am confused as to why some are running older versions, yet others have moved to newer ones.
Also is anyone else running a XEON on this board?
Oh, I almost forgot! I need to post my Rampage Formula results with dual 4870X2 cards! Okay, here is my Vantage score on the extreme preset:

And here is a picture of the inside of my PC:

I've got Thermalright HR-09 heatsinks on the MOSFETs and HR-07 heatsinks on my RAM. I've got a D-Tek Fuzion V2 on the CPU and a DangerDen MPC-X38 on the NB. On the SB, I have an Enzotech CNB-S1L. The video cards of course are on stock cooling.
My vantage score was achieved with my 24/7 settings which are 459x8 on my Q9450, my FSB:DRAM ratio at 5:6, and currently the 4870X2s at stock speeds.
Installing the 4870X2s went very smoothly, I just popped them in (there were no obstructions), installed the latest Catalyst 8.8 and off they went.
Official 0408 BIOS is up. Once again it just claims "support new CPUs".
Takel: I have 8 Gig of OCZ Platinum DDR2-1000 and I run it at 1:1 (900) when I an at 450 FBS, But when I run at 425 FBS I run the RAM at 5:6 (1020) I have to set the NB to 1.51 to run stable.
Phelan1777: I have the Xeon X3350, For me 408 is the best BIOS. With this BIOS I can enable LLC and lower my Vcore to 1.27500 and I am stable at 3.6 (450x8). I always heard that LLC did not work with the older BIOS. Without LLC enabled I had to use 1.3V to be stable.
Does the problem effect all PCI-E controllers...I mean host-based and IOP based...and if so which manufacturers and what is the size of the firmware/bios on those cards? Try booting with the raid controller in pci-e 2.0 slot #2 (closest to cpu) and gpu in the other lower slot, or could just be a problem with shadow memory allocation for the boot rom. Adaptec for example use an 8MB rom. Figure out the specifics of it and email Asus support, more people that do it the sooner it will be done something about.
mikeyakame! glad to see you back!
find something new about this mobo? new hint to reach higher oc and better stability you want to share with us?
