what about the ones with an evaluation bios couse i have a TW and my bios is an evaluation according to everest

Everest...
Most often does not know any better than to read the wrong place and find that in most bioses just hidden.

Beta Bios Correct NB Table Volts...
-
does that sort the over volting issue? and is it compatable with english boards?
-
DFI Taiwan released a new Beta (X38AD111) should show up soon on the Downloadpage -> Hit me !
Major Reasons of Change:
Correct NB Core Settings table.
-
sweet RGone, thanx, I hope this will sort out my yorkie. latest p-35 beta seems to have done wonders for 45 nm support. I am now very confident the x-38 will be even better.
-
At this time I would suggest the only people flashing to this BIOS are those with the NB voltage issue. Unless of course you are inquisitive enough to wonder what impact this will have on a system that had no voltage issue.

and those of us with very little fear, and a spare bios chip...lol
I am assuming this rolls up the latest beta bios changes as well. the yorkie support is what I'm interested in.

ill test mine later. I've got a digital multi meter here so i can look at the voltage then. Iirc the pics of where to test are in this thread?

its quite well known in china their fabing isnt up to par with stuff that get press in tiawan. they are getting their , but they can't match the sheer experince that tiawan has over them.
i have to say this xmas my little half bro got loads & loads of cheep toys that were made in china . good for him as he get loads of toys, but quite alot of them broke soon after being opened. loads more than i ever remember braking when i was his age.
anyway back to the x38, mines been sent out today  hopefully it will be here by monday at the latest

I got mine today :) however I still need a CPU to do anything ^^ gotta wait until those 45nm are out and then the fun begins with 4 Ghz+ ocing madness
I just hope the motherboard can take it, mine is also made in China. I guess if you buy at HPM computer that's the one you get.

Work's :) my NB voltage is dropping now I set in bios 1.504 and I have 1.45-1.47 under load in windows :D
I recommend this update for those who have the NB voltage problem!
I'm just @ Prime now and hope it's stable now with Praz his settings @ 3.6, I'm not sure what to do about the bios offset setting for the CPU temp, but anyways I gues the offset feature doesn't change the Core temp reading's, or am I wrong.?
Good Luck

You can adjust the temperature offset to closely match the average of CoreTemp. Once adjusted it seems to track the average of the DTS pretty well.

this "NEW" 9650 that replaced my first one is a 'HOTTIE'...i can get to the same mhz (4400) as the 1st one but it is definitely drawing more current and therefore coretemp is showing +11C for two cores and +20C for the other two.
all of the cores are moving not like the 1st cpu where core #0 was locked on to 51C for idle...not until i cranked enough juice and clocks into it, did it budge above 51C.
i hope this new bios will give me a little more wiggle room...i am thinking i will need to lap the cpu which i resisted in the past just for warranty sake.

When pushing the components it's unlikely exact settings are going to transfer from one system to the next. If you're unable to pull in any more tRD phases the performance hit won't be much leaving as is. Otherwise it will require increasing NB and memory voltage along. Manually setting the optimal NB GTL will also help.
-
here is some prove of it, the bios setting's are from Praz http://csd.dficlub.org/forum/showpos...2&postcount=15
I'm just not at multi 8 but 9 everything else is the same, before the bios update the same settings was only 8 minutes stable at least for the forth core and now as I write this it's 45min. and running the temps are great I think for the PWM 55 max.

Hey Praz, I'm new to this GTL settings where can I read about this?
And I forgot to as what is the Max safe average CPU temp for OCCT testing on the Q6600?

this is "HOT"...this new cpu must be one of those rejected 9770's...i am using less vcore but it sure is spiking my PWM and core temps.
the latest 01/11/2008 bios seems to be very nice...i just raised the multi and vcore, and tweaked the NB and Vdimm a hair...otherwise, i left SB, FSB VTT and CPU GTL, NB GTL alone since the FSB stayed at 333 mhz.
-
damn ace! for 45nm that is scary, sorry to see that, that sucks for an Extremely Expensive CPU.
RMA through intel if possible.
-
What is max. FSB that you achieved with this mbo?
-
All better now, slightly undervolted, but that is fine by me!

Can you check 1,479 setting?
Bios shows then 1,50 and Smartguardian 1,43.

intel sucks when it comes to things like this...it has to be black and white issue for those tech support boys in costa rica!...they won't give me an RMA for overclocking temp problem...LOL:D
