They're passive radiators, and people use them because they'd rather not have three fans humming away.

Thanks RealRedRaider ,
Ironically, I've been "part of the club" for over a year or so now. Just that I only just got round to finishing it off and taking some decent pics.
Cheers dude! Love the name change too. "WhiskeyAqua" is probably more fitting in this thread huh? :)
Thanks dopestuff, no real secrets mate.
I do think that cathode placement is critical though. I have 2 on each side panel and 4 on the top panel, making a total of 8. However, I tried my hardest to ensure that they are placed insuch a way that you rarely see a cathode directly, from outside the case.
Also, the smoked black acrylic that I replaced the original clear side panels with does a much better job of "filtering" out cathode glow and dust, giving a cleaner overall look.
Hope that helps
Many thanks for the kind comments bentleya, glad you like it. :p:
Not a custom paint job unfortunately, just the standard mirror black powder coat and a shedload of Mr Sheen :p:
I'm working on a log over here at the moment (please somebody let me know if links to other forums are not allowed and I'll gladly remove it) but will gladly port it over to XS if people would like?
What's the best place for a watercooling build log on these forums anyhows?

That would be in the Liquid Cooling Worklog subforum of the Liquid Cooling forum ;) [long winded way of saying things]
Here are two pics of my first two machines, more in my worklog.

What's the purpose of the side radiators? Or whatever there called? lol. Why not just use the triple rad to cool the GPU/CPU?

Id love to comment your system, but the picture is so big i cant take it all in.
Resize it please :)
Should I start a new thread on this with some rules?
In some ways it would be nice to have a comment free gallery, but this thread has lasted so long and is filled with amazing rigs over a long period of time. I'd say just leave this one going, but you could start a new one with a comment free picture gallery. I think they could both go along together hand in hand.
yes, please leave this thread active!!! without I would've never ever dared to build a watercooled system. this thread IS the mainreason that I stepped into teh l!kw!d and I LOVE it, I was h00ked instantly
All right. So, you guys want me to start a new comment free gallery thread along with the link of this thread?
This thread has worked so well for such a long time as is. We've only had a few complaints out of the large number of users who peruse this thread daily.
I see no reason to have two threads...it would just cause confusion. One or the other of the two would probably die.

Yes please, and make the rules very specific. . . .....Finished cases only, 1024 x 768 size pics, and no talking outside of posting pics. There have been many more requesting this thread return to it's roots in the past than are currently.
we should have a subforum just as a gallery
