2.4ghz stable at stock volts so far. Temps are 31-32c with Freezer Pro. I'm glad I didn't keep my 4600!
Yepeee!
Just put in in your rig and................TEST THE S.O.B.!!!!Quote:

I have an A8N32-SLI and was playing around with it when I got the chip. Maxxed out the htt at 400x6.5 and dual primed it for around 6 hours. Never had a hiccup. However, I can't get the chip stable much above 2.7ghz. 2.75ghz will boot to windows, but isn't superpi or prime stable. 2.8ghz won't boot into windows. I can post at 3ghz (but don't ask for anything other than the initial post screen :p )
anyone know of any of the settings I can change in this A8N32 bios to maybe squeeze 2.8ghz out of it???? I've even fed it 1.55v and it wouldn't do 2.8. it just hits a wall and won't go any farther (with stability) no matter what voltage, multiplier, htt speed, ram divider, etc.
:EDIT: and is there a vdroop mod for the A8N32??? I've been googling for a while and going through the search function here but have yet to find anything.
Got my new X2 3800+ Manchester up and running today, after having difficulties getting the 2nd core to work. But now it seems good.
Its a "LDBFE 0626DPMW"`with a "T" in the corner, which seems to be a pretty new one, right? Well, I havent tried any overclocking on it yet, but it will surely come later, and then ill keep ya all update ;) Anyone know what to expect from it?
2600 at stock volts will do i think, but test.;)Quote:

I'm running mine rock solid stable 2.5ghz @ stock volts. I didn't go for higher than that, I may try later but this is fine for now. Temps are cool @ 30c. This is one nice chip!
I could push mine to 2.5ghz at 1.48volts on air :( I need to give 1.6+ volts to hit 2.6ghz... It's a ADBHE 0521 TPMW

Ouch m8. I thought i was hard done.
just got 2 3800+ X@ from Dave Graham few hours ago
installed mine and booted up with the settings in the screenshot below :woot:
it is
ADA3800AA5CD
LCBIE 0619RPMW
volt in bois 1.35v

lol I need to get one of these.
It would be interesting to see some temps from Core Temp.
At 260x10 and stock volts my toledo runs at 55C and 52C under load.
How are your toledos doing?
thanks :)
55c at idle and 52c under load? That's one badass, thermodynamically-subversive CPU you got there, m8.Quote:

well I was talking about Core Temp. SmartGuardian, is at out 42C.
But I consider smart guardian's value as useless. I'd like to have some comparisions with core temp.
lol it was a joke, m8. My Core Temp readings are about the same - hovering around or just over 50c. Thankfully there's never more than a couple of degrees difference between the two cores, so my IHS mount must be pretty sweet.
I have a TT BT on the way to see if I can control the heat on my X2 which is sitting pretty at 2.7GHz. The Arctic Cooling 64 Pro is great if running stock but once you add VCore and upping the TDP it just can't cope. It did a good job on my 146 @ 2.9GHz however.
The Manchesters don't seem to be doing as well as the tolly's.
What board are you running in EE?
aww, sorry I didn't get it :).Quote:

Also if core 0 is under load only temps are 37C and 35C, but with core 1 only it is 37C 42C.
Should be the IHS?!
It could be the IHS. I think whilst great as allows easy mounting I think they do a good job of retaining the heat as much as it removes it
My load temperatures:
MBM5/SG: 45-48°C
CoreTemp: core0 53-54°C, core1 47-48°C.
From my experience CoreTemp reacts very quickly to all kind of changes in fan speeds and case temperatures. Seems reliable for my system.

Something else that came into my mind: I was looking at AMD's site some revision information and it looks like the X2 3800+ tray model ADA3800DAA5CD is labeled as E6 (=Toledo). The code for the boxed models is the same for E4 and E6. I thought this might help if someone is still looking for a X2 3800+ Toledo.
Edit: link
I just recieve the same stepping today :toast:Quote:

Got my TTBT this morning and first off its quieter than the Freezer 64 at full tilt and secondly (which I think is most important) it is around 8c cooler and not mounted properly as in i've used the stock a64 retention clip instead of the screw down bracket ala BT VX model.
Both cores loaded I am getting 54c on core0 and 50c on core1. Thats with 1.52v in the bios. Might see if she'll clock a bit more now :)
that's a really nice drop.Quote:

That was the reassurance I needed to find the limits at stock volts. :)
can someone please suggest the best bios update (with a link) for the DFI Expert running a 3800+ Toledo and 2GB DDR 500 Z503 Ballistix.
Thank you!
