excellent... thats basically what i was looking for.... cool.
well the chip is in.. took me 10 minutes... and its running good ... a little bit hotter than my 3200+ but that was expected.
anyway.. things are good. i just need to learn how to take advantage of dual core stuff now.
Class until 8 PM followed by food = not back until past 9 PM prollyQuote:

Yikes!!!!!!!!!!

:D
By the way, this Freezer kept my Venice 3000+ @ 1,7 volt below 40'C :woot:
But I'll post a screenshot with Prime running, etc. etc.
That, my friend, is a complete impossibility :)Quote:

Lol it is possible, that was not @ full load . . . And I'm using Speedfan or Smart Guardian to measure temps. We will see my friend, when I post screenie with X2 @ full load.Quote:

I am in no way disputing what these programs are telling you All_Star, you may have an onboard diode that is not correctly calibrated or some other impossible to find fault but you will find that if you can get hold of a digital temp probe it will give you a completely different reading :)Quote:

Pff stop whining about the temps, my system is stable, so I don't ***** mind what the temps are   :rolleyes:Quote:

no arguing guys... there's lots of data, wash it with your brains :)
I've stuck this thread, it's huge it gets hit a lot... there's a separate thread I've linked for posting your final stable OC, please read the first post and follow the outline!
Thanks!

So , what will you guys do when one core is weaker than another ?
Disassemble the machine, throw the parts in the trash, and revert back to legal pads and postage stamps! :banana:Quote:

btw, one core is always weaker than the other...
My X2 has the same problem. One core is 30 Mhz better than the other. I also noticed that core 1 is slightly faster than the other when running superPi 1M & 32M. With current manufacturing processes It is difficult to get every core identical.
finally got my 4400 x2 to oc to 2.8Ghz a little more stable. i think installing the big typhoon and having cooler weather outside help. here's cpuz validation. it seems like core 2 or cpu1 is a weaker core. i can bench cpu0 in prime95 for hours, but cpu1 fails 30mins to an hour later.
http://valid.x86-secret.com/show_oc?id=38829.
i wish both cores are good, oh well.
It's not that core 1 is faster per se... it's that core 0 is the default target for background apps slowing it slightlyQuote:

u generally just overclock away, using dual prime or something for stability, and whichever core tends to fail first is the weaker core.
Hey ugly dont give away my secrets...LOLQuote:

these are preliminary results. Prime and SuperPI 32M stable...
