Monarch Joe over at Arnand forum said that he looked it up and waynesnyder DID get the only one they had.
He got the only one they had? They had ONE? GOd almighty WTF is going on... :cussing: :shakes:
haha, lol, they only got one. something smells really fishy and i don't like it. this is the messiest release ever. amd, distributor, and reseller are starting to piss me off. good thing this 3200+ winnie is running at 2.65Ghz right now. it's pretty sweet for a CBBID chip.
i don't think monarch or any resellers give a s*$t about us customers. i think the more we complain and the more we want these cpus, the more they'll keep us in suspense. they know we want it bad, so they're taking advantage of this situation. call me crazy, but that's how i feel. same goes for amd.
Hey crazy, as far as I can tell, Monarch isn't gouging anyone for these Venice/San Diego chips. So what do they possibly have to gain by "taking advantage of this situation"?
:para:
Read it here. http://forums.anandtech.com/messagev...&enterthread=y
Just my speculation and I have no proof. My feeling about the "lone 3700+" from Monarch is that they have them, but AMD has told them not to ship them until the end of next week. Gives another week to sell the present stock. Then some poor guy who was in the bathroom during the quick meeting about it, let one (or more) thru. Now, Monarch. like Lucy, has some 'splaining to do. And, if this is true, the other distributors that don't outsource has been locked up, too. And the main outsources are holding.
I'm thinking this has to be AMD bumping their dates for whatever reason...not enough Winchester / Newcastle CPUs sold off yet...?...no idea...seems like Distributors HAVE the chips, they're just not releasing them to retailers for resale...idfk anymore...when I talked to Monarch today all I got was "Our shipment was delayed for a week. Our AMD rep was in here today and he said he'd try to get these shipped for us. I guarantee we'll be the first to have these chips though." sounds like a load of crap to me
This is very strange... if waynesnyder got an OEM chip... which are only sold to integrators/retailers in large quantity trays... Monarch couldn't of had just one.
So, should we all call Monarch constantly tomorrow and politely but insistently ask them to ship us our CPUs *NOW*?!?!!?!?!!??!?!!?
I would call them every hour, on the hour, if I thought it would help...
you HAVE to turn on your macro to get that..Quote:

man i'm just tired of this whole venice/diego release. why can't amd do something nice for the enthusiasts for once. so what if they have surplus of winnies. sell them to system builders. we want venice and san diego now.
As has already been mentioned, 3800+ Venice cores are available for order at Overclockers.co.uk but this morning they also added the slower speed Venices for*pre*order. These slower cores will arrive at their place at the start to middle of next week as confirmed by this post...

Get ordering! If you can afford it :)

As for all you Americans that look at the above page and do some conversion, you're forgetting one thing. That the dollar is VERY weak in comparison to the British pound. This means you get a lot less pounds for your dollar in comparison to how many dollars we can get for a pound. As always, the prices here are usually higher but it's going to seem even more so if you just do a straight conversion with the current rates.
At the time of writing...
1 USD gets you 0.52 GBP
1 GBP gets us 1.91 USD
...taken from http://www.xe.com , rates change very often and so it may be different by the time you click it.
thanking for econ 101. i think we all know the obvious with the currency exchange rate. why would anyone want to order overseas just so they will have to wait longer for shipping. doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me. it's a good time to buy if you're outside the US though. so today is the day when we should see 4000+ available on monarch right? i wonder what excuse monarch will use today to delay the 4000+.
Actually the 4000+ has been pushed back to April 29th by Monarch. I'm getting sick and tired of this. I'm about to order a Clawhammer and make the move to Venice or even dual core this summer.
i got sick and tired of the waiting and the many excuses i heard from vendors, so i ordered a 3200+ winnie. this cpu can't oc for sh*t. it can only do 2.6Ghz and i got good g.skill rams, 550W antec psu, and xp-120 to cool it. the release will continue to be pushed back, this is ridiculous.
Monarch has a pre order for the dual cores, which according to Monarch is the end of May..Quote:

When I saw this thread I immediatley go to the last page, so I don't no if its mentioned before.
San Diego 3500+ 1MB chache
Why go for a San Diego 4000+ if you can get a 3500+ for estimation price $270,-
I don't if its true, but if it is...

Most likely it will be 3500+ BN, but I know as many as you. Box or no Box, I buy this one when it's available, I'm using my XP-120 anyway.Quote:

I spoke to Joe at Monarch... they got one from AMD for them to eval... they didn't eval it they sent it out to the first person on the preorder. These guys are honest if nothing else. I would rather have someone tell me the truth then to blow smoke just to get my order and my hopes up (sparco!!)Quote:

I know, I never heard of any plans from AMD for a 3500+ 1MB. I don't know if we can trust this guy in my link. I hope it's true, but maybe its just a rumor he heard and just post it like it's the truth. We just have to wait what the future will bring us.Quote:
