Nice work... 1T performance is fantastic. And that mushkin memory looks seriously tastey. I would jump on some if there were any in the UK right now. Talking of which, no one has even listed the DFI up for preorder yet over in this part of the world :(
Can you get one from the US shipped for reasonable $? Maybe the guys at www.motherboardpro.com can hook you up?
best option would be a european etailer, try Hpm Computer from Germany, I ordered mine from there, good service fairly quick turn around. Certainly cheaper than getting one in from non EU nations, due to customs/overall shipping charges and shipping time frames etc..

Raja
Thanks for the tips guys - Agree with Raju, have shipped from the US before, and been stung on shipping and customs charge's. Europe is a definate option though. Unfortunately HPM seem to be out of stock. I'll keep an eye on their site and hopefully some will come back in. At least is listed, and theyve had some before... definately ahead of the UK! LOL!
well good to hear its selling out places... should help with the longevity of support for the board. its back at newegg though and is in stock =/
people need to start buying this board or we'll never get the bios upgrades we need ! !
how is this configuration working out for you sammich ?? with everything blowing downward?
my most recent build with the NB rotated 180 degrees confirmed what you guys already found... it doesn't work.
so i'm gonna have to go with the horiztal mount and am wondering which way i should get my fans going... is your setup going good?
Here's another German etailer with them currently in stock. I've ordered from them several times and can recommend them. Shipping to UK is based on weight and starts at EUR 14.52 for up to 5kg.

I got my DFI 680i the other day and have so far run into the following issues that maybe someone else has worked around:
1. The board gets very unhappy when I mount my Areca ARC-1220 in the 2nd PCIe x16 slot (8800GTX in the first) and seems to simply power cycle repeatedly when turned on. I had to move the controller down to the 3rd PCIe x16 slot, but there is virtually no airflow down there so it gets very hot even with an active cooler - not good.
2. My hopes and dreams to re-use my Lian-Li V2100B Plus for this project evaporated after I realized that the Enzotech Ultra-X cooler extends past the edge of the board and therefore collides with the hd/psu separator in the V2100. I was confined to using my old P180 which is insanely cramped.
VirtualRain - I know you've used your ARC-1210 on this board, but I couldn't see any photos on your blog of which slot you had it in. Was it the 3rd slot also?
Any thoughts on the Areca reboot cycle would be much appreciated guys - thanks! :)
Unfortunately, I still need my old rig to be operational for work which is where my Areca card is... so I haven't had a chance to test it on the DFI board. Once all my cooling stuff arrives, I'll make the cut-over with the Areca.
You should post this issue over on DFI Club Forums to see what they say. I know that the middle PEG slot is intended for SLI graphics so perhaps the Southbridge gets unhappy whenever there is something other than a graphics card in that slot. The third slot near the edge of the board is the proper slot and the one I will be using.
afaik that slot mentioned is a bootable storage device slot, on most DFI boards this is the case..
It just came out here in Canada at 335$ (cdn)
With P35 coming around the corner, why 680 mobo's are still not dropping in price
I want a drop in prices like DDR2 :D
no uk based sellers as of yet?
1 thing I have damn sure noticed about running this board is that the "pwm" area runs about 65C....
Hey guys, there's a new Beta BIOS (521) on the DFI site. It's dated from last week but I think it was posted yesterday. It looks like the 4C is now for extreme processors (unlocked multi) and non-extreme processors use the 2C (not sure but that's how it seems).
I won't have a chance to try it until this evening.

If you try it, post any differences you find here and I'll keep a comprehensive change log on my blog.
BETA bios has CPU core Temp adjustment now.
I wish we had a more detailed release note for these...
BTW, I show a 18c difference between coretemp and BIOS.
wow.
mine was about 10C difference
