Not sure why that happens with your bios temps. All the motherboards I have had have done that as well (Bunch of Intel boards and this MSI board). The bios temps always tend to be 10-20c higher than the windows readings.

I bumped up the FSB to 366
Vcore - 1.40 (since dropped to 1.38, testing for minimum voltage needs)
PCIE Freq - 100
vMCH - 1.55
RAM is 1:1 dropped back the timings from rated 4-5-4-11. I'll try faster after stability has been determined with current ratings.
I today replaced the Mini Typhoon with the Zalman CNPS9700LED. CPU temps dropped by about 18-20 degrees. The readings by Core Temp and Dual Core Center are about 3-4 degrees off now, instead of 10-12.
400 seems close, but at this point, I am nervous to push my system any farther. While technically it could probably go much harder, I have an active imagination. In my mind I see my motherboard exploding, parts failing, frying and me with no gaming PC. Maybe once I'm more secure with the higher FSB. :)

will this board run Core 2 Duo's Quad Core Cpu's.
Yes it will.
I see there is a new Bios version 7.40 out today, my version is 7.20, "which at the moment is working fine for me" the last 2 times I updated my Bios, everything worked fine, except my MSN browser, which is provided to me by Verizon Fios Fiber broadband, it seems to lose all it's settings and does not allow me to log on, even redownloading it does not work, only a complete hardrive cleanup and freash Win XP install seems to solve the problem, which I am not about to go through again for a third time, having to reload all my programs is really annoying, what could be causing this problem.
I just ordered a E6600, what are the best overclock settings for this CPU mobo combo, does it overclock the same way a prescott does.
what happened, all MSI owners just dissapeared:(
LOL, just couldn't resistQuote:

I'm still around.
Hey,
Haven't followed this thread for ages... what have the BIOS revisions been like? Sorted issues with boot hangs and stuff?
Cheers,
Suman
Still the same. I heard with each successive bios version, it gets crappier. In the latest official 7.4 bios, some options completely vanish and can't even be selected. I am still on the 716 beta and can do 450 fsb +, so I am happy.
RAID doesn't work. I have the 7.4 BIOS... Win reboots about half-way through when RAID is activated in BIOS.
Any suggestions?
well, if it makes any of you feel better, my P5LD2 has problems holding a PD950 at 4.03 Ghz, lol.
I bought a 680i, way better for me. Sorry.
I brought an xbx2 - couldnt hack the restart and usb mouse issues on the msi. sounds like i made the right choice too.
Hello.. :)
I have question about Mobo 975x.
My specs:
Pentium Core 2 Duo 4300 1.8Ghz FSB 800
Zalman 9700 Led Blue (110mm)
MSI 975x Platinum v.2
Mem 2x1GB OCZ Heatpipe CAS 4-4-4-15 1T, DDR 2 800 (PC6400)
eVGA Geforce 8600GT
And
I will buy new hard drive SATA, Sound Card X-FI XtremerGamer, Power Supply and DVD-RW
Still I have not used 975x because i haven't power supply, hard drive, etc.. so my new computer's incomplete. :(
but I was reading about article review 975x, specifications and forums says that The default setting for DDR2 800 is DDR2 667 when my processor run FSB 800 Mhz.
*******************
MSI Reminds You...
• DDR2 800 can only achieve 800MHz with FSB 1066 Conroe CPU.
• The default setting for DD2 800 is DDR2 667, which can be adjusted manually.

*******************
So how I can change my memory 667 to 800? or I must buy another processor Core 2 Duo that has FSB 1066 for memory can run DDR2-800?
Other question?
Which is best the bios for MSI 975x? (Better stability, and Better Overclocking)
Thank you :yepp:
