2.5 ghz stable at default! :)

2.6 ghz errors out on core 1.

This is as high as my 0543TPMW would allow while staying at 1.65+-Vcore. its not my 24/7, but its the chips max...

Put the 180 in on a vapo pe, it worked it a little. In the ss below the idle was
-4/5c and load doing dual 32m was 18. How do you do dual 1.4? I think I did it with my 3800 back when they first came out but I can't do it now. I don't know how much more this 180 has got, just a first date. I do think a better phase cooler would help but I'm too cheap. Don't really know if this is a good or bad oc for a 180.

That's pretty good for a 180... My 180 on water does 2.7 @ 1.5v 100% stable and will do 2.8 stable at 1.7v but the temps are just a bit too high for me to consider running 24/7 until I get my new chilly1 unit in. At that point I'll be chopping this procs head off and then letting the juice flow in hopes of 3+ghz stable.

good first results

with SuperPI/mod1.4 you need to create 2 separate folders and extract the proggie in each folder

when you open them you need to also manually set affinity for each SPI (Task Manager)....so use Core0 for first SPI you open and Core1 for second SPI.....that way you'll know which core is weaker too :)

I'm hoping that my phase will give me 3GHz out of mine for benching AT LEAST :D

can you crank that cooler on stock settings and see how low it can idle before the cold bug kicks in

There is no crank down to it, it's just an old vapo pe.:) I did lower the volts to 1.2@2400 and got it down to -10c idle. I think this 180 is part turion.
Auto/auto is 1.3v.

I've decided that it's definately time to nakify the 180. Going to bring home a nice new sharp blade with me from work tomorrow and proceed to slice her off after I walk through the door.

Hoping that it will straigten out my one buggered core giving me a nice stable 2.9ghz... /me prays that this chip will be a good candidate for the new phase.

1.3/1.35 is stock vcore for dual core Opterons so you are within the range............why would u say it's a part Turion :S

On a related note, a few members at OCForums who followed my burn-in technique have reported improvements, notably in the area of VCore. Less VCore was required. This is what I did:-

A few words regarding the burn-in process I use (Warning! This is very time consuming!):

Memory is at stock or any guarenteed stable setting. I will be using StressCPU and CPUBurn. Goals are to achieve a higher stable OC at a progressively decreasing VCore, aided by conventional burn-in.For Dual core CPU's, I would recommend burning-in both core simultaneously. Ther is usually one weak core, which may need a bit more work to bring it up to par with the stronger core. Extra burning-in should not hurt, so keep working with both cores simultaneously throughout the process. As always, I mean run two instances of the toasting programs :D

Just to put things in perspective, with my Venice, out-of-the-box, I could hit 2.55GHz at stock volts, but getting to 2.6GHz necissitated the use of 1.65V! This was prior to the burn-in. After the burn-in, I'm comfortabley lodged at 2.77GHz @ 1.64V. I followed this elaborate process with some measure of success. It may or may-not work for you, it did for me. :)

• Stock settings for a minimum of 6hrs. I would recommend overnight (StressCPU, as one is guarenteed stability at stock settings.). This step is vital!

• Bump net CPU Freq by 50 MHz for 4 hrs (CPUBurn with error checking off). If you computer crashes,back off by 20MHz.

• Check status for 30 min using StressCPU. If you find errors,bump voltage by 0.025 V and repeat step #2.

• Continue this process till you reach your Magic number/Target Freq (mine is 2.7GHz).

• Turn off error checking and use CPUBurn for > 14 hrs i.e overnight.

• Turn off computer, let it cool down and then use Stress CPU to check for errors. Let it run for the rest of the day. If you still see errors, you have not completed setps 1, 2 properly and have jumped the gun. Don't be hasty! :p

• Now decrease VCore in steps of 0.025 V and see if you get errors. The idea is to reduce the voltage threshold by this back and forth process.

Don't throw rocks at my house if it doesn't work!

Swiftech MCW6002-64
2 x DD Maze4 GPU Blocks
Maze4 Chipset Block (out of the loop till I pick up an Expert)
Thermochill HE120.3 Rad w/ 6 x Panaflo M1A's in push/pull
2 x Laing D4 pumps
Tygon all the way around

It was the best setup I could build back when I put it together without having to get on any waiting lists for a good custom block (G4/G5). I'm very content with the loop and haven't felt that it's due for upgrading yet as I'm waiting on my chilly1 U2-UFO to come in. Once that's in I'll yard the wc gear out of the current rig, toss the cpu block, hook everything else back up and continue to keep my wc's vid cards and possibly my chipset if I upgrade to an Expert during the gear swap. At 1.5v this setup keeps my DC Opty at a pretty chilly 18-19*c and under load about 39*c on a cool night with the windows open.

The IHS comes off today! Maybe I'll be able to ding 2.8 or 2.9 w/ it off (what a dreamer i am... lol). I'll take an extra stable 50mhz, lol!

just got my new 0546 form David Graham up and running. this thing blows the socks off the 0541. been up and running about 2 hours now (had to get in some CSS this morning, highest clokc so far the grand 3ghz and crash, my best screeny is below im burning in now at 2.8 for a few hours see what we can do. all this is at 1.44 volts in bios;3x ldt;180 ram @2.8v; will be posting back. man if this thing goes 3gig stable i'll be like a pig in mud. all i need now is 2 gigs of ram that will hold a 1t clock up there.

so... i have a CCBWE 0530 tmpw sitting on my bed and has been waiting to be used for about 2 months, but i havent been able to due to me not having a computer. well im about a week or 2 away from getting the rest of my parts, and i was wondering, can i expect 2.7/2.8 from this on air (TT big typhoon)? What is the average speed on air of 0530 tpmw's?
