I got the CPU-Z hanging, but I didn't install either of those this time.
I am thinking it could also be my PCI sound card (HT Omega Claro+). The drivers are for Win7, and upon installation it doesn't install the taskbar software. Could you point me in the direction of the newest or confirmed working Chipset/Realtek HD audio/Marvell Console drivers so I can further troubleshoot?
I looked on Intels site, and could only find new RST drivers, didn't see any P67 chipset drivers.
Here is P67 Intel drivers:

See what is useful for your UD4 (and compatible with Win 8).
I may give those a try. I wish my problem were more specific or obvious with what was going on during the freezes. I tried for 30 minutes at one point to get it to crash with clicks, key presses and plugging unplugging devices so I could get some idea of what was happening. But it just hangs with mouse movement.

Note on my Windows 8 system hangs. Turns out all the drivers Gigabyte is responsible for are A-OK. It was a combination of busted Nvidia drivers and the dev channel of Chrome.
Noticed the drivers page officially supports Windows 8 RTM. Any chance we may be lucky enough to get a UEFI BIOS at some point? I dislike how 90% of my boot time is due to the post time of the current BIOS.
Im using DVID at +0.100 as just to avoid low load BSOD, is there a LLC level that can force say 1.400v at 25% CPU load? my PC is perfectly stable at +0.080 at max load but BSOD's at 25-75% CPU load.
i must assume that support for this board is dead no new bios since f8 date march 2012, they will make uefi bios or just for z68?
