i have been playing around more so with my phenom still and now it seems alot more stable at 13, 13, 13, 12 @224 but when it does freeze now i can still move my cursor around but nothing happens when i click. nothing works not alt, ctrl, del. any ideas what could cause that?
I had the same... I couldnt be arsed and left it as instability. Running stock now untill some good boards with good BIOS's and lay-outs come out.Quote:

as i said quietice everytime i touch any volage in aod it freezes the computer. i miss the good ol days of fulll bios clocking and not relying on a program. and merkk1 if you refering to me i have a thermaltake 1200W (needed it for my 2 2900xt's). thanks for the help thus far guys
Calcifer, it may not matter on your rig anyway - that's why I asked about your vDIMM. I haven't seen anything suggesting a low vDIMM would cause an issue but mine runs 2.1v stock (DDR2-800). I think maybe there's too much voltage difference when the vDIMM is that high since the default vDDQ is 1.8v (same as default DDR2 vDIMM).
If you are running a high vDIMM you might try the opposite approach by turning down the vDIMM and loosening up the timings to make it work. Can't hurt to give it a shot ...
Interesting, but if this would be true for my PSU I would be quite pissy though! It's a good brand, I use a DMM to measure Voltages and they were all very good and solid. 12.04V and 4.99V. I dont think that I ever had such a PSU.Quote:

Up-date i put my 750w PS (xigmatek-mc751 750w) back in last night . I change how i had some of the lines plug into the PS (it modular cabling) and add a line to it to cut down on how much load
is on all the lines and now it running my rig stable at 2.81 like the 600w PS was .Rammateiner it
mite be worth a try if you got a spair PS to give it a try just to see what happens.
This is the Reason why I wont buy anything but Single Rail Power Supplies:)

i have a question with prime95. when running the 4 threads in it does thread 1 stress core 1? thread 2 stress core 2 and so on? because i know core 1, 2, 3 are stable at over 2.9 but core 4 gets issues at 2675mhz and when puching it further and then running prime for stablity running all cores at 12@224 they all fail in about 3 seconds. any ideas. and would i be better off running a tri core at over 2.9 or sunning it as a quad with 3 cores at 2.9 and 1 at 2.67? there is an option in the asus bios to disable cores. thanks.
and QuietIce i have my ram at 374mhz at 1.8V 5-5-5-18 so having a higher Vdimm shouldn't be an issue now if it was in the first place

they are corsair TWIN2X2048-6400C4DHX which defualt at 2.1V. might go get a pack or 2x2gig ocz like tony's as they seem to be very impressive

I updated the bios on my MSI K9A2 Platinum last night. I had to do so on its schedule instead of mine since it quit booting from my RAID controller after putting in an Intel PRO/100+ NIC. Even after removing the NIC the system still wouldn't boot properly.
Updated from the late January build to the March build and it started working again. My power and reset buttons still don't behave properly. I still have to clear CMOS before being able to cold boot about half the time, too.
Anyone else have this issue on the K9A2 v1? I've not been brave enough to try the trace masking trick yet on my RAID controller since it's so dern expensive.
