I cannot seem to get stable at 350mhz or higher. I am aware of the strap issues and cannot get 401-435fsb either. At first I thought it was the ram since its not the greatest. So i tryed.....
345FSB 1.38v =2.76ghz
431MHZ 5-5-5-15-42 (i think its 4:5 i cant remmeber) 2.25v
This was toally fine. The only thing i changed was the timings and the ratio.
Since it was totally fine i tryed using the 1:1 ratio with the same timings and a 431FSB. The ram should not be affecting my OC now since it was stable @ 431 like i mentioned above. of course i got no boot. I was planning on this out come and figured i would need to crank up the vcore a little to get it stable. I tryed a vcore all the way up to 1.6. Around 1.525v i was finnaly able to get a windows splash screen. @ 1.6v it was still totaly unstable. Every type of Orthos test fails in 1-2seconds. I dropped it down to 405fsb thinking my OC might be pushing the chip. I was still not happy and figured it was time to rule out any other voltages. I cranked up the other voltages to max and left the vcore at 1.6v. Still not stable in orthos for more than 10 seconds.
I then thought hmmm, lets drop the multi and see what fun i can have. Since I knew the ram could run 431mhz thats the fsb i used. However i dropped the multi to 7x putting me @ 3017mhz. using 1.60 and everything else maxed it would still not stay stable more than 10 seconds. (i did try auto and lower volts first) I also had 3x 130cfm deltas maxed out for the max volt settings to avoid over heating. CPU temp in the tests above reached 51c in asus probe once @ 1.6v.
Any ideas?

There are settings for Northbridge voltage and southbridge voltage that I leave to auto.

Ive tried to raise the cpu freq, getting conflicting answers on what the vcore
should then be. and do i need to change the dram freq.
So basically does anyone have the exact settings for 3.4 ghz and for 3.6 Ghz

I don't have a answer for you but I can't get over 3.4 either and only to 3.4 with a multiplier of 8 and 425 bus. If I try 378 @ 9x I get a blue screen after X amount of time, where X could be 3 minute or 3 hours or longer, it is totally random. If I use 425 @ 8x it seems to be stable but anythiing higher is a NO GO. Orthos or dual Prime hangs on core 1 but core 0 keeps on running when set to anything over 425 @ 8x and anything over 374 @ 9x. I think there are some really good CPU's, some run of the mill CPU's and a few really bad CPU's. I'm thinking I have a run of the mill one.
As far as voltages I have the CPU @ 1.4375, Mem at 2.25 (It is rated at 1.9 and I have had it up to 2.35), NB @ 1.25 FSB T V 1.3, SB Auto and ICH Auto.
No matter what voltages I set I can't get over the 3.37GHz @ 9x or 3.4x @ 8x.
Expect to go between 1.55 and 1.60 on the vcore...Takes 1.587v on my Infinity to hit 3.70. About 1.562v for 3.60. Every mobo/cpu combo is gonna be a little different so you're just gonna have to experiment.Quote:

Well if you want 3.4 then it's 378x9. 388 would give you 3492.
All the voltages depend on your particular system. Some can get 3.6 (400x9) with voltages just above stock. Others like me can not get there at all with the voltages I care to use. I'm not big on running my E6600 at 1.5 or higher volts and I sure don't want to run the memory at anything higher then the 2.25 I now have it at.

Well I said the heck with it and jumped the volts up to 1.525 CPU, 2.30 Mem, FSB TV 1.40, NB 1.45, SB 1.5 and I have it running at 400x9 for 3.6GHz. Not sure how long it will last but when I go to bed tonight, if it hasn't crashed and burned by then, I'll run a dual Prime on it. I'm going to do some Photoshop now and see if it lasts.
QUESTION PEOPLE.
My LGA775 mount (for the TT120) is "stuck" to the mobo (as directed in installation). WTF to I get replacements for them? Any sites would be cool so I can see what I'm after, but UK would be nice! Thanks!

You don't need the pad and insulator to stick to anything to function properly. The pins on the components keeps the pad in place.
Try the hardware or auto parts store to find something for a replacement. Gasket material will work.

that's why i never make anything permanent with removing a sticky cover off the mounting stickem...mine is mounted unaltered so i can remove it without any problems.
my suggestion is to remove the mount and buy some two way stickem tape to install on the mounting plate...then, do not remove the other half so the mounting plate can be removed later on.

Im a little concerned about the vcore so high.
But my real question is temps???
CPU at idle is between 49 and 50c I figure ill go as high as 57c during a stress
test. What are safe ranges, cuz 3.6 sure aint worth new parts.
