i most definitely will keep you in mind if i decide to sell that motherboard  its still an awesome board even for todays standards.

Hi All
Anyone got any clues how I get the 120MHz and 133Mhz dividers running with an opty 165 on a dfi Expert.
They are no go on 3 165s in 3 Experts which means the mem is running on a 100Mhz divider resulting in
166Mhz for the memory with HTT at 333MHz.
Any help greatly appreciated.Have fiddled with MAL and RPT but no joy.
Smiffy
Hi
Have tried some single sided Crucial 3200 sticks and seems better on 120Mhz divider.
Smiffy
Also better on 133 so maybe fussy with the Twinmos or double sided sticks.

Which motherboard have you tried your Opty in?
Something is not right, even the F2 Opty go to at least
2500Mhz. I might have a picture of mine with the stepping,
will update this post if found. Let me know when you got
the hardware ready and we'll try to clock that sucker up;)
I was using the AM2 motherboard in my signature. It's not an enthusiast motherboard so I don't really think it's meant for great overclocking. I don't know if that was the problem.
Ok will do.
There was this thread recently, but the guy had it at 300x9=2700mhz already.

Is this the board you have?
Doesn't look that bad, better than my "infinity".
EDIT**
quick check list:
-all 3 power connectors are connected
-RAM set to 533 or 400 DDR (Cas2)
-HT link x3
post your power supply type
(I am supraised you're not using GB's Odin GT:D, it's actually pretty good)
No need to rush, I am pretty lazy and might not reply fast, keep that in mind:)
Yes that's the motherboard.
Interesting thread that thanks. I don't know the part number or batch of mine as it's currently installed in a server machine. I will try to find out when I get a chance. It's an F3 like yours. That means it's a CZ.
Having read these threads it does seem as though it should have gone higher. Even if it's a bad one it should overclock higher than 2050Mhz.
All the components I use are in my signature.
What is GB's Odin GT???
Don't worry about reply speeds. It might take a while for me to have another go as the opteron is in another machine that is in use.
I think that I have more than enough to start with. I'll let you know when I have news.
Thanks for your help so far.

When you get around to it try setting the cpu multy to
7 or 5 and see how far the HTT (FSB) goes.
If it goes high up then the cpu is at fault,if it doesn't
then something else is not right.
I know you have a phenom and it's a lot more fun to play with,
well for me anyways.
Got my opteron 180 up to 2.9Ghz on stock air cooler for a brief 30 seconds ORTHOS stable. I didn't want to put much more voltage into it since cooling is stock... Could probably do 3.0 on a good air cooler and some more voltage ;) As far as stepping is concerned, I'm not sure what it is, and don't have any thermal paste to replace if I remove the HSF.

I've been quite happy with my 1212.
It's the second machine in my sig. It's 100% stable.
got an opteron 165 off ebay this stepping CCBBE 0615EPMW
put it in a a8n-sli deluxe mobo (latest bios 1805 i think?)
settings so far 284x9 @ 1.425v using a xigmateck giai push pull
HT is 3x multi
whats the max cpu vcore i should go...its bean along time since i tried 1.4v seems high....
cant seem to get much higher FSB than 286+
got 4 sticks of 1gb g.skill ddr 400 2-3-2-5 (current bios setting are DDR multi at 266mhz and loosened timings 3-3-3-5-11-2T)
memory is set at 2.75v (should i go higher?)
3yr old antec 600w powersupply ( thinking maybe its the psu?)
cant seem to get it past 2.5-2.6ghz hmmmmm :(
any ideas?
edit: oh jsut realized im running win7 64bit on it....this may casue it not to OC higher? maybe?
LOL @ page 165 :)
I had to use more voltage then 1.4 on my 165. I could do over 3ghz but not stable. 3ghz wsa highest I could get stable.
64bit, 4 sticks and High HTT is what might be holding you back. My 165 was almost the same stepping if my memory is right, it did 3ghz, but my board didnt, well it did, but not stable enough.
You might consider abit more voltage to the nb, not shure if it will do anything tho, i dont think i hade to increase nb voltage untill i hit 300ht
300x9 with just 1.325 was rock stable. But hit a wall after 2.7ghz somewhere. I also ran it at 2.88ghz perfectly stable, but that required more than 1.4v. Somewhere above that my MB started acting up.
Edit: Found a picture. Mine was CCBBE 0610DPMW
Does the a8n-sli deluxe have Nb voltage in bios I can't seem to find it?
hmm cant seem to get any higher..must be because im running 64-bit and 4 dimm slots.
maybe increase memory volts from 2.8v to 2.9v?
ht link is set for 4x
also i have dram divider set for 266 maybe ill go to 333 divider to at least get higher memory clocks.
seems like everything is set real loose jsut cant figure out why i cant get past 285mhz fsb
