I have 4x1GB of ballitix Tracer and I have them set at a 1:1.2 at 5-4-4-11, but I am overclocking my CPU to 3.6Ghz. Best way to find out how to overclock is to google a overclocking guide or go back 20 pages and start reading.
Good LUCK.

this board doesn't seem to like the cl4 thing with 4 gigs of memory and aquad ... the highest I have had my tracers at 4-4-4-12 is 1030 on the 1:1.25 divider. I can't seem to get any higher. I can go as far as 1150 with 5-4-4 with much better performance, so I gave up on the cl4 dreams I had.

i think the DFI bios on the X38 and P35 is far more complicated than it has to be...it would be fine if you are computer science major BUT for most of us normal users, it is quite the thing to figure it out...it makes the Pro bios look like child's play!;)
AND..for a mature Pro bios compared to DFI's first bios is about the same place in getting a good overclock...the Pro bios on the early release allowed me to easily get to 3.8 ghz while i had to work hard at getting the DFI bios to cooperate...probably due to the complication and numerous settings there to manipulate in DFI's bios.

can I use the 16.b04 bios on my ip35-e?
I managed to get a floppy drive and trying the beta bios now.
Does anyone have issues with bios 16 beta 4?
1. The cpu reading in uGuru is way off. Just starting up the computer, it shows 52C.
2. I specifically set the voltage for RAM as 2.175V in the bios but uGuru shows 2.2V.
Also I tried same settings I had under bios 14 on this new bios and it failed in prime95 in 3 minutes.
agreed, coretem shows the cores at about 38 to 40 yet everest reports cputemp at 55?!?!
Ok Got a different kind of question. I've got 4 identical 320GB drives in the lower hdd area. I'm taking my front rad out so I'm moving the two RAIDed drives to the middle hdd bay, well my question is is there a way to tell which drives are RAIDED? I have the 1st two in the RAID menu selected.

Also people who have attached fans to their PWMs can you post pictures?
Hey there!
I have Q6600 B3 version. Does anyone have here B3 that is OC to 3,8-3,9Ghz with aircooling? I have TRUE 120 cooler myself, and have stable 3,6GHz OC. But can't get it stable past 3,8 Ghz. Can someone share their bios voltage configuration? I'll post mine later, when i get home. Thanx, and greets from Estonia.
Got my system running for about a week now. On and off just playing games and running 3DMark etc
Had a go at overclocking my Q6600 (G0) with the stock intel cooler (should setup my WC this weekend) pushed it to 2.9GHz with 30Min OCCT stable Highest Coretemp reading was 59DegC under load. I was moving up in 10MHz increments so it took a while to get to 2.9GHz I'm just watching the temps trying to stay under 65 with the CPU cooler.
Has anyone had problems with uguru causing crashes in Vista64? I'm pretty sure I have the latest version but any comments? When I close uguru I dont get any freezes!?!
Cheers,
emu
so any1 know how to determine which HDD's are physically part of the RAID?
Thanks Ace. I knew this would be the place to confirm my suspicions!
So you cant set voltages etc with uguru in Vista64bit? I wqondered why that didnt seem to work. I might try my other boot with XP havent tried it for a week! it defaults to Vista! 0
Whats the max temp you would go with the stock cooler? is 60DegC pushing it? I read somewhere that they are specced to about 65DegC but i'm interested in an experienced answer.
@silverphoenix: Sorry mate cant help besides disconnecting the drives to work out which is which! and I'm not sure that is the best way!
Cheers,
emu
i tried vista 64 but it was RC2 and there were issues..i read a few complaining about Uguru in vista 64...my recommendation is to set it to run under XP compatibility...don't ask how to, i just don't remember!;)
Firstly if I leave it running while stress testing I get a fatal freeze! I'm sure I have the latest version but will check. Maybe I'll change the exe to run in XP compatability mode.
Where do you change the voltages? do you go into the settings etc? Not sure I am in the right spot to start with really!
I'll try it out when I get home and let u know.
not sure how many HDD's are connected in your system in a RAID, but after post, in the intel screen it will show the disk, and will show if its a member or not. I mark all my drives with a marker on top to help out in things like this, or if Iam swapping out drives so i know whats on them.
check the screen after post, or just unplug them also, thats the sure way to know.
Whoops somehow I had uguru 3.1.03 installed! Even though I have uninstalled (deleted remaining files) restarted and then installed 3.1.07 it still says the exe is version 3.1.03! wtf
no uguru for me atm then in Vista might try it in XP tonight! Maybe after some GunGame! lol ;)
Tried it in XP and no go either not sure what is going on maybe its cos I leave it and CPU-Z open at the same time. I might try and use uguru only to adjust voltages etc in windows and then close it! More testing is required on my side to help determine this!

Will set up my water cooling this weekend so hopefully I'll see some nice temps!
a few questions: (1) why is it that memtest86 wouldn't work on stock settings while memtest86+ did on the same settings? and (2) do i have to install the "Intel Matrix Storage Manager" drive if i'm not going to use raid? (3) how accurate are the temps reported in the BIOS?
Q6600, 2x1gb crucial ballistix
thanks everyone.
2) you don't have to install intel matrix storage manager if you want to do RAID.
The raid setup can be done by CTRL-I. The raid driver is installed during xp/vista setup. The intel matrix storage manager gives you a GUI so you can manage your array and settings.
If you have a bootable windows or can boot to windows already, you can attach more drives in remaining SATA ports. Go to bios, go to sata and change mode to RAID. When the system reboot, you can CTRL-I to create raid set OR just boot to windows, install MSM, run it and create the array using the GUI interface.
This was timely, I was confusing myself trying to install the RAID driver software, and kept getting a message from the Intel install software, that my board didn't meet the minimum hardware requirements for installation [WTF!!], and then it would close the install program. I finally figured that unless RAID is enabled in the BIOS, the Intel software thinks that the board doesn't support RAID.
So now I have files spread across a couple of drives, that I want to use in RAID mode. Can I enable RAID on these drives without losing the data - or do I first need to backup that data somewhere else before proceeding... My boot drive is NOT one of the drives I want to use in the RAID array.
Ι have put the beta 04 bios by using abit flashmenu from windows.
No changes in my overclocking so far.
I still cannot pass 550 with my memory.
The issue with loosing control with cpu fan seems to be fixed.
Also indeed it does not shut down in some occasions when changing something
in bios
hehe Im pretty sure I killed the board.
by tigthening the cpu pot to hard, Now I suffer from the famus C1 bug :D
I had the C1 error for a long time i went through everything trying to fix it RMAd my RAM and everything even bought new RAM to see what the deal was.....ended up being my video card. The board worked for a couple days and then quit out of nowhere and gave me the C1 error....took my vid card out and put it back in and it has worked fine ever since lol :shakes:
Help, I have a problem. System had been running fine @ 3.6 for a long time. A few days ago I updated to the B04 bios and all was well except for Uguru temp readings. I got the idea to update Vista with the SP1 Beta but something went screwy in the install and it totally screwed my Vista install. I could get nothing but bsod in regular boot or even safemode. I even tried booting to the disk to try a repair but when it gets so far into the load it even bsod, also. The bsod always mentions a hardware change. So I booted back to XP and recoverd my identity folders for web and email programs along with my Crysis save games. Went to Computer Management and deleted my Vista partition and booted to the Vista disk. It goes through the file loading and then it brings up the splash screen with the mouse pointer and then just stays there. Something is confusing the install is my guess. The only change in the system made is the beta bios. Could this be causing the problem?
Just a suggestion, but did you clear cmos after you flashed with B04?
Is my bios messed up? I went in to my computer to start on the oc. I only went up from 2.4 to 2.5 with this board and a Q6600 with crucial ballistix 4-4-4-12 memory. I didn't do too much at all. I restarted and the bios reset itself . So I tried again and it did it again. Ok, now I decided maybe not to oc right now until I can work things out and see what is going on. Well, I went back in and reset all the settings to default and all the others that I had disabled or enabled back to where they were. I have had this thing running for 5 days straight with no problems at all.
Well, anyway now the thing won't boot back up. I clear cmos and redo the bios and reset to where I had first set the bios again NO OC at all again and it won't go. It just sputters and spurts. Right now the only way it works is if I leave the Abit splash screen enabled. What is going on?????????
The only bug i have seen in beta 04 is the vdimm setting.
I have set that to 2.0 but after restarting in bios it says 1.975!
I'm not doing RAID. But I do have SATA drives and one IDE optical drive...
Do I have to install...
1) The JMicron SATA Driver?
2) The RAID/ACHI software - Intel Matrix Storage Manger?
3) The JMicron installation disk?
I don't have a wifi-Card installed on the the ip35 Pro. i don't think it has one built in, so do i need to install the abit airpace wi-fi card driver?
thanks in advance everyone.
@excOC: if its SP2 disk then you wont need the floppy
Not at first. I have since tried setting defaults and then all Default and that is where it is now. I will try the battery pull reset tonight when I get home.
[edit]
The more that I think about this the more I think it is a bios related problem. I noticed last night that when set the boot drive to my XP drive but left the disk drive as 1st boot with the Vista disk in, but without hitting a boot to disk key, the system still tried to boot to the Vista install. And that is weird as that partition has been deleted. If I take the disk out the system will go on and boot to the XP drive. It is like there are remaining Vista gremlins residing in something that don't go away, even off a deleted partition.
I have the GeminiII heatsink and I tightened it so much that my mobo can never go straight... I would do what Ace says... it may... your mobo may be OK. I thought before I installed everything that I might of damaged my mobo... but everything works. I had to clear my CMOS a few times... when I put everything together, a few times when I oced to high, and after installing the new bios.
Is there any decent aftermarket PWM heatsinks for this board, or any way to mod something existing to fit? I'm putting the NB and SB on water shortly after christmas and I didn't feel like cutting up or baking the stock solution.
OK reset bios by removing battery for 20 minutes. Loaded defaults and still the same. Try to boot to the Vista disk and it hangs after the splash screen first appears. If I try to boot to my XP disk with the Vista disk in the drive I get a screen saying something about a "recovered" Vista install and a missing file. Yes, a file is missing, the whole partition is gone. How can I get past this to reinstall Vista?
This is starting to annoy me
What am I doing wrong?
IP35 Pro

4GB Crucial Ballistix
Arcitc cooling pro 7 cpu cooler
HT Omega Claro sound card
Leadtek 7900 GS TDH
2 seagate 500GB 32MB cache
Corsair HX620
I can't get this thing over 2.6. When I try it just shuts down and resets itself and won't go any higher. I set the memory to 2.2 and started adjusting my fsb just a little at a time. When I get to 2.6 it happens. Can anyone give me their settings for their overclock and the exact things they had to change on this board to get it to work. All I want to get to is 2.8. Thanks.
I just used swiftech ramsinks with a 70mm fan blowing over them....33C idle 51C prime load. Don't waste your time w/c the SB....it doesnt get hot enough, im using a passive enzotech copper heatsink on mine and its barely warm :) I have my NB w/c but im realizing that its also a waste and adding unecessary heat to my loop so i will be removing it when i get my 8800 GT
I may end up using bga sinks on my pwm's, they hit 51C currently with a tornado blowing on them. Vcore is 1.42V I want to push my machine further and also get rid of the whine of the 80mm monster. Without the fan the pwms keep rising past 80c at which point I halt any stability testing. I was hoping maybe a chipset block might cover it and I can rig a mount for it.
I have the same problem with PWM as well. I put a 40 mm (8900 rpm) blowing directly at the heat sink for now. The fan is small enough therefore it's very quiet. I'm able to stable at 3.8 GHz with 1.58 Vcore and PWM temp is 71C under full load. I will do the heat pipe mod this weekend so temp will improve as well. System is completely on air.
Yes, but I can't get it past 2.6. I have to start over when it hits that. The bios resets itself and I start the process again. I wonder if it could be a bad board. I have the HX620 from corsair which I now find some say causes a problem. I don't know what the heck to do. I guess I will keep trying. No one seems to have the same problem, I guess.
:) Hey guys! im new here !
Before joining this thread, a few weeks ago i'm still using my Asus P5N-E SLI + E2160 overclocked to 3.2Ghz running for months without problem. Only problem is = nforce not optimized for Quad Core...

after installation my Rig runs fine at everything STOCK! but i noticed my CPU temp is around 38C at idle... so i gave my ThermalRight 120 eXtreme a long LAP !!! ( 200grit - 400grit - 800grit - 1500grit for 6 hours) after lapping the core temp dropped to 29C at idle !!!!
I have couple of questions to ask before start OVERCLOCKING !
1. Where should i start to get 3.6Ghz or more ? mind to share your settings?
2. What bios is best for me to go 3.6Ghz or more ? how to flash bios properly?
3. One thing i noticed that the PWM temp is very high... around 58C ! is that normal?
Thats all for the time being ! Any precious advice is very very much appreciated !
I saw these setting in Bios OC guru !

I have the corsair hx620 psu. I don't have any error messages like some of the other people do but could there be a problem. Or I'm wondering if the board could be defective. I have done 4 or 5 intel boards and never had a problem going from 2.4 -2.8. I have never had to do the type of adjustments that this board is requiring. If I make the slightest adjustment sometimes it won't let me boot and just resets itself to default. I have tried over 40 times with all the adjustments in the proper order. I am at a loss at what to do.
Hi Guys,
I just wanted to chime in here and say a big thank you to everyone. Especially Ace-a-Rue. I traded up to this board (or beast as some like to call it) from an Asus p5N-e sli. With my Q6600 I couldn't even get stable at anything above stock. With this amazing mobo, and the help on this board, I now have my quad core B3 stable as a rock at 3.4 and Ram overclocked too!! (corsair xms 6400). My terrible addiction to the overclocking experience is quenched I think and I am super grateful. 3D Mark score went up about 3000 points to over 14000. My windows score (for some reason I care) has gone from 4.7 on the old board to 5.7 on this abit. Everything is extremely zippy and I have a tonne of progs that start with windows. I know there's not always a direct relation to the cpu a lot of times but my taxing games have all gained 15-30 fps. Everthing is super cool too, all the temps have gone down about 15 degrees baseline from that asus board too. I think I can actually enjoy the damn computer now lol.
For the newbies to the board, I kept a good collection of helpful things from all 160 pages of this thread including folks various voltages and tips along the way. If you'd like the summary, let me know.
Thanks again to everyone and thanks to abit for this awesome board for the quad cores.
Ps. I have the same problems with uguru reporting high temps with the latest beta bios and the .25 differential on the ddr voltage (vdimm?)
PSS. I didn't do the heatsink mod. My PWM temp has never risen above 45C. Does uguru normailly report PWM temp correctly?
Cheers and happy holidays guys and girls.

Hello all, my first post here - I have a few questions;
Can anyone tell me why 16.B04 is a must?? I used it with my QX9650 for a week, but rolled back to 16.b03 as I couldnt go as high with the FSB. Currently im running 456 * 9 with beta bios 16.b03.
Also, 16.b04 hasnt completely fixed the CPU temp issue - it works until you put the PC to sleep and then reports CPU temp of 0 degrees. Also, as far as I can tell, they havent fixed speedstep -it fails to work. I need speedstep as Im running 1.51v all the time. Speedstep C1E would reduce the voltage and speed when idle, thus saving my CPU greif. Without speedstep you have to over volt the CPU to compensate for the Vdroop at full load.
Has anyone with the board got speedstep to work with a QX9650?
I have a question on the uguru. The update that is on the site has to do with the software doesn't it or will it update the bios uguru? I don't have the software installed. I don't need the monitoring as I have things for that. Is there an update for the bios uguru? or the bios itself. I have 14.
Yes, its for the uguru monitoring software....i would flash to the new B04 bios and see if it fixes any of the numerous problems you are having. There is a guide in Ace's sig that explains how to do it

hello and :welcome:
your set up is close to mine,
i am running at 3.6 stable on air .
just try altering your vcore to around 1.48-1.50,and your memory to the reckomended vaults 2.2v for ballistix 4-4-4-12-2t in bios , leave everyhing as it is, and put a 40mm fan over your pwm1 and see how you go. you can put another 120 fan on your cooler ,set them up 1 pushing the air and the other will pull the air through.
there are not 2 boards alike ,but these settings are working for some.
regards
steve
[QUOTE=didineedthis;2644819]Well, we have a different heatsink. GeminiII, but yours is suppose to be better. I am also running 3.6Ghz on Air.. no extra fans anywhere besides in my case (RC -690).
This is my advice to you... something still sounds a little strange with your temps. What is the Room Temp? Don't relie on UGURU for temps... download core temp and see what your "true" temps are... usually UGURU understates your temps by 8 -14 degrees!!!! My UGURU said before I started to overclock that my temps was at 12-14C, which is not correct. The next thing to do is after you overclock to run Prime 1024... did you update to the latest bios?
Now my ONLY ADVICE is... DO NOT LISTEN TO ANYONE... read the last 20 pages or so.
Like I said, I am stable at 3.6Ghz, memory is at a 5:6 Ratio at DDR2 980 5-4-4-11 (using 4 x 1 GB Ballitix Tracer), and I pass Prime 1024 and my Vcore is set at 1.3950 (but I fail OCCT)... I started at 1.46 and then went lower... I think it is a little insaine for someone to tell you that it should be around 1.48 - 1.5. There is a lot more then just uping your Vcore.
I tend to build a system every six years... I am hoping that the only upgrade I will do is upgrade the CPU once and the GPU once and I want my computer to last. There are "ALOT" of people that have really juiced their computer and they don't realize that they can lower there voltages and still have stability.
Just remmember... it is really easy to overclock... the hard part is figuring out the "lowest" settings and still be stable.
Good LUCK
P.S.
Best person to ask about your heatsink is probably Ace... just make.
1)Beta 4 bios has still the issue with the cpu fan that goes up to maximum speed whatever settings someone have.
2)Also there is a mistake in guru panel 3.1.07 and this bios.
oc guru and setup oc guru read 0.025 more of vdimm.Bios aggree with abit eq voltage tab.
3)The good think with this bios is that it can tighten memory timings.
My D9GKX value are now playing as tight as higher binned D9's.
But maximum overclock has not change.
If the above 2 things can be corrected (which i am sure) this will be an excellent bios and more aggressive.

Hey guys, finally got my account activated!
I do need some help however. Just built a whole new rig with this mobo and I'm not having nearly the luck some others are overclocking. I have an E6750 that *kinda* runs stable at 3.2 right now. 8x multi at 400 FSB. I'm running on air with the stock HSF for the moment until I get a new Zalman for xmas. Right now it's running at 1.36 vcore, but it fails prime after 7ish hours...I OCCTed it also, failing around 7 hours. I think it's the heat as it runs about 66C (Coretemp) fully loaded after a few hours.
I've upped my voltage all the way to 1.48 volts and can't get close to stable with FSB 450. I really want to get stable at 3.6...
From what I've heard the E6750 with G0 stepping is pretty easy to push up around 3.6 at moderate voltage levels on air.
I left the cpu stock and used a 1:1.5 multi (FSB 500) running memtest for nearly 15 hours and 4000% coverage just to make sure my NB and ram were stable and error free. I have 2 gigs of Crucial Ballistics Tracer at 4-4-4-15 2T
I need some advice on what voltages to adjust. I've googled A LOT looking for more info on all the different ways to increase stability but I'm still having trouble.
Suggestions would be awesome. Thanks in advance!
Oh and Merry Christmas!
[QUOTE=joshuaboston;2645031]
@joshuaboston
1.48-150 vcore was just a guide for him to work with,
i do have the same heatsink has he does , and i do have the same memory .
memory is at 1.1 ratio at ddr2 800 4-4-4-12-2t using Crucial 4GB Ballistix DDR2 PC2-6400 (4x1GB) CAS4
these settings are what work for me and numerous other people, with the same memory and heatsink.
these settings are not set in stone, he asked for some settings to get him to 3.6 ,i just give him the settings that worked for me.
his question was
1. Where should i start to get 3.6Ghz or more ? mind to share your settings?
and thats what i gave him.
and i do pass occt and prime after 8 hours, once my heatsink has bedded in, i will try and lower my vcore, but my temps are not a problem .
C1E works fine for me, once you find your stable oc you would use for day to day task leaving c1E on is fine, it will drop your vcore when idle. EIST does cause issues though, mainly bsod or random data loss at non 1:1 ratios and or high FSB, c1e seems to be unaffected.
If you are benching for lengths of time though, turn off all cpu features
16.B04 appears to be a lot better than previous BIOS and has allowed reasonable FSBs on the QX9650, although I by-passed 16.B03, have CIE disabled, but will try some time later.
Some Dividers appear not so good but with the QX you get more choice of playing with memory speeds. :)
Can someone tell why i cant run with a higher multiplier than 6? I can set it higher in bios but it does not take any effect. Specs:
QX9650
BIOS ID:14
Speedstep disabled
Check that ALL CPU Features are disabled and then try BIOS 16.B04
All CPU Features are disabled ;)
But i will try the beta bios...
[QUOTE=joshuaboston;2645031]Thanks guys !!!
im now on 3.6Ghz at bios setting 1.45V ! ram at 1000Mhz at 2.2V 4-4-4-12
but i saw the voltage reading in uGURU for CPU volt is 1.40v - 1.42V ???
by the way, im not at bios14... should i go to beta 16 ?
[QUOTE=cscheat;2646579]There is a problem with the Abit Pro P35... it has to do with the CPU voltage drop. From what I understand it is a "hardware problem" the newest bios has helped a little but there will always be a Voltage drop for your CPU... but that should not really matter.. as long as you are on your lowest possible settings (stability presummed). But in bios 14 there was a "very" large voltage fluctuation with my CPU Vcore... and the beta bios has helped that problem.. ALOT!!
I have the beta bios 16.03... REALLY HELPED OUT ALOT!!! I think I may wait a little longer before I go to 16.04... but if you are on 14... DEFINATELY upgrade to the highest beta bios... I am sure it will allow you to lower a few settings and should add more mobo stability.
Other thoughts... I had to wait about 200 hours before my thermal compound cured... thats running time. I used Artic Cooling MX-2.
The only thing I kind of don't understand is why I am able to set my Vcore under 1.4V and still pass prime 1024 at 3.6Ghz, but maybe I just have not looked at what other people are doing. Mind you I seriously spent days trying to figure out the best settings in each catagory.
Have you tried to tighten your memory timming? The last time I ran Prime 1024 I did it at 406 seconds. Whats your score? At whats your temps using "coretemp" mine is 38-40 at ideal and in the high 60's under load.
I agree, I have been keeping an eye on this forum... very greatful for it.
Vdroop is part of the Intel specification so if you want Intel accreditation you will have Vdroop at defaults (some mobos get around this by having a secondary circuit that can get enabled from BIOS - in their default states though they are disabled to comply with Intel).
As such the IP35 Pro is complying with Intel design specs.
Hi Guys,
Just got my system built...but am having a hard time trying to figure out how to do the following:
CONFIG: (3) 320GB Hard Drives SATA
GOAL: Setup a RAID 1 config with WinXP Pro SP2 using 2 of the drives. 3rd drive will be for non-critical data (stand-alone).
PROBLEMS:
1. I have no floppy drive. Even if I did, all the drivers are on the CDROM included with the mobo so installing the RAID controller drivers during setup is not doable.
2. In order to get WinXP installed can I set the BIOS SATA controller in IDE mode to get WinXP installed on one of the drives and then change it to RAID mode afterwards without destroying my data on the install drive?
3. Or should I use Intel Matrix Storage Manager to setup the RAID?
4. If none of the above will work how do I get the drivers to install during WinXP setup? I know I can press F6 to install drivers, but I don't have them on a floppy as I stated.
A simple step-by-step on how to install WinXP Pro without the Intel RAID drivers would be GREATLY appreciated!!! Thanks!!!
:) Thanks for any help!

How does this mobo do under extreme cooling?
Ive heard great things about this board just curious before I purchase one.
What do you call extreme cooling?
Just wondered... :) The question is ask often and usually by people that have no concept or ability to do Dice or LN2...
I can't answer the question as I do H2O because I need a 24/7 machine and don't waste time with bragging rights or extreme benchies that mean nothing relating to everyday performance...
Regards-
PS: Yet this is "xtemesystems" so whatever... ;)
Im sure I can find out easily with a few searches (which I will) but any idea how well documented the voltmod guides are for this board?
Yeah, thanks...That was pretty much a worthless post. Assuming I want to save $6 wasn't (and isn't) the issue. I don't have space for it in my chassis.
In an attempt to actually help others I figured it out with the assistance of the below link and am posting in case it helps someone else in the same situation.

That's cool, no problem... As far as being a worthless post, it was a worthless question to start with, but whatever... Heck with where you have room, just hook it up outside of the case to do your install, then put it in the closet until you need it again... :) But whatever works for you... ;)
Every once in a while when I reboot or cold boot , I get a double beep. It's one weird toned beep then the normal post beep. It happens very sporadically and I cannot figure out what it is. I check uGuru and everything checks out fine.
Also, yesterday I rebooted out of Ubuntu and I heard about 5-6 short beeps and the comp froze. I don't know if t was an Ubuntu error that caused it or something serious. Hasn't happened again.
Is there some sort of beep history log in the bios? If not, what is the best way to figure out the problem.
D'oh......I just re-read my post...I meant the xtra beep is a little longer than the post beep lol.
