Nice 24 clock persivore! What temps do you have at those speeds?
The GPU gets up to about 52*c under load, cooled with a maze4 GPU block. I think the mount might be bad tho.Quote:

I've seen the voltage regulator temperature at 95*c before, running 1.35v Vgpu and 2.35v Vdd (with no airflow). It didn't seem to do any damage to the card, but I'm not going to run it that hot again any time soon ;)
Yeah...I think I have one of the chips that has the bug...this sux.
on a bright side(this was even before I flashed the card)...I have been able to run CS:Source for hours with the card at 630/693...1.175v.
I compared the 3 different BIOS'es with a HEX editor and they are the exact same thing. (a note that the BIOS says that the default voltage is 1.065v...not 1.075 in ATI tools or 1.050 in ATI's internal OC tool) There's nothing custom about these BIOS'es.
Wow...670 core on 1.2v...I'm pretty sure I can hit 700+ if only my card would take more volts...my load temp is ony 49, with environment temp of 30, and power regulator temps of no more than 70 (I think that can be done better with better cooler...delta between idle/load on the regulators is 20C).

Vgpu:1,27V, Ram:2,21V and 2,03V in H2O with a 1A-SL2.
I have some questions:
- I do not increase more the memory (max 720), the tension max of the memory is well of 2,2V. Then how to make the memory more? I saw people here with the memory at 750-800.
- For is the GPU, which the tension max? I am tested 725 with the same voltage but 3Dmark05 crash.:mad:

yes...up the vCore...ur GPU temp is 37 idle...u should be able to do 1.35 easily...
The memory scales with the GPU voltage more than vMem

My card is bugged also won't take anything higher than 1.175 under water.
1.2v hardlocks the card.
The R520 cores on these x1800XL's are crap.
I may have to go nvidia to get a nice OC with my Watercool rig.
Your card isn't bugged, it works at it's advertised operating freqency and voltage. Why are you people incessant on feeling like you've gotten ripped off. If you want guaranteed clock rates, pay more money and get them. There is a reason why these cores don't go any higher, BECAUSE THEY DON'T GO ANY HIGHER. That is why they are XL cards and NOT XT.
You get what you pay for, and you did.
Get over it already.
do any of you guys get artifacts instantly in ati tool using the "scan for artifacts" button at stock speeds/voltages?

So I opened the 3D renderer and it looked funny did not think anything of it. Tried OCing with 0 results
In fact it artifacted at stock It artifacted at =100MHz and at -200MHz
WTF Was going on. So I decided to pull the card visually inspected it made sure everything was attached, nothing loose etc
Just hooked up my main monitor since I was going to be RMAIng the card most likely

I ran the clocks up on it about 11% with no artifacting

I have no problems with 2 monitors and my XL Ocing. Have you the 2 sreens separatly on each output?
About the "scan for artifacts", it's don't work propelly with ATI X1xxx cards. To check your oc, run one test of 3Dmark.;)
I have a question for you boys! It's okay that every X1800XL owners are overclock his own card but when you're playing games what frequencies do you use? I left stock, 'cause no games can kill this card:)

Anyway...ATI Tool will report artifacts... W1zzard changed the 3D box and the scanning to create more heat. The scanning process works on older cards. You can choose to use the old way to scan for artifacts in the settings to overcome this problem.

Yes, it's game stable and artifacts free but i can't OC that much without getting arties, they start to appear around 550MHz core and would require 1.170/1.175 to go away and eventualy allow 630MHz clean on the core but most of the time it would just blackscreen with that volts :stick:Quote:

BTW go ahead and get Nvidia when the shimmering ain't killing ya, the lousy AA will. I had the 7800 GTX and the 7800 GTX 512. They sucked in most games as far as IQ. And in COD2 I had to run 1024x768 online with the GTX 512 otherwise framerate was about 30. The XT at 1280x1024 with aa/af runs 60+. Mine works fine at overclocked speeds. Still tweaking it over time but im maxed or near maxed on memory. Still might beable to get it stable at 730 without to much trouble, but the core is semi near max stability.Quote:

I can run at 600/1500 (1.125/2.1/2.0) 24/7, i wish my core would do a meager 1.5v but oh well my mem can do XT speeds
