Ok thanks.
Do EK Supreme HF usually have an odd contact on SB or do I need to lap the block? On all three of my 2600K's I get a narrow contact that seems to align with the core position anyway, are they made this way or should I lap?
:)

I think not. I am running one on a UD5 with no issues, excellent block.
as above good contact and best block i have had
Next time I lift the block I will take a pic but as it is consistant across three cpus I would expect its the block at fault more than the cpus.
Yesterday I put the my 2500K on ss...
I disapointed bacause my system doesn't boot on same clock like Air... only 55x100.0 was bootable ..with air I can bench all 2d at 55X100.3
All the air profiles that my system boots and run 2d benches were not bootable:(:( not even profiles X54 (or X56 with downclock)
The good is that the cpu benches all the 3d benches very easy.. but only at 55x100.0with more, system can't boot I didn't try 54X102(or 56X98.3)

How much difference in score is there between W7 and XP?
I didn't try W7 yet
Guys, how much difference is there in benchmark performance between 2500K and 2600K? Is the extra cost worth it for HT?
:)
Just picked up an L042B243 :) from what I hear it has a good chance of being a good chip.

Sorry if its been asked before but what is a nice safe voltage for 24/7 use?
:)
I guess depending what you are doing with your pc,if you fold and use 100% all time i wouldnt use more than 1.3,if you play games and don't use your pc 24/7 you can try to 1.4V,of course with good temperatures.
Just benching and gaming, so <1.3 is plenty safe right? I might be able to nudge 4.8 at 1.3 or so.
:)
Got new batch L051B163 on my 2600K start playing with multiplier from X50,X51,X52,X53,X54,X55 are Go with ht of
runs fine 5ghz set Vcore in bios 1.36v booted into windows 7 fine runs stable at 4,6ghz ht on vcore set 1.3v bios rock solid stable...
testing now 4800mhz@Vcore 1.38v ht on seems good yet. runs up tp 5,5G with 1,52v to
5500 with 1.52 if you can bench 4c8t is very good :)
ohh yeah :) this is awesome
5,5G HT ON

Would you guys mind mentioning what cooling you are using too?
:)
After getting 2 bad L045A912s from Newegg (one wouldn't run 4.6 stable at any volts. The other was stable, passed hours of prime, IBT and LinX, but would randomly BSOD when idle or just surfing). I finally got a good one.
L044A892
Still playing but 4.6 @ 1.30v passed 20 runs of IBT, LinX (AVX with latest libs) and 5 hours Prime95 small. No BSODs. 4.8 @ 1.375v. I can even boot 5.0 without Internal PLL overvoltage.

I find HT makes everything smoother. Games, having multiple apps. I had a 4.8Ghz 2500k, couldn't wait to get a 2600k... I LOVE 2600K!!!!!
My new 2600K batch L042B074 boot up's with multi 56x, and stable 5GHz frequency requires only 1.35v!
As you can see from temps that's aircooled with Prolimatech Super Mega.
