What? Did I post something wrong?
Cheers for the settings dude, I'll give them a try asap.
Does anyone know what "stock" voltages are on this board?
Oh, and are those the settings that are stable for you up to 475MHz?
word!
Well in that case then, either my Quad or my board SUCKS because I can't get 435MHz stable with those settings, let alone 475MHz... :(
don't give up that easily man lol, do some adjustments and find that sweet spot.
Lol. I'm pretty sure it's this Quad with a silly low FSB Wall. Every setting I try, settings I know work (from my Maximus Formula and Blitz Formula work) fail to do a thing. I can get 425MHz stable with 1.4v North Bridge and 2v Ram but even after increasing the voltages to what I know these parts can take, it just craps out @ 430MHz now...
Stupid new Quad...
Any idea how to read the Northbridge volts and temps? And also what is stock voltage for this board?
This Quad is 1.325v VID, it's one of the new 2008 batches, L801A876 to be exact and far it sucks royally...
Everest lists the stock voltage for the P35 as 1.25v so I guess that must be it...
Tell me about it... My first EVER Quad had a VID of 1.2375v and can run 24/7 100% @ 3.9GHz on air with ~1.6v... EVERY Quad I've had since then has been 1.3v+ VID and stopped dead @ 3.5GHz'ish... Most annoying... :D
Anywho, getting to the bottom of my trouble now...the ram seems to be acting up, usually 100% stable @ these clocks/timings but not anymore! :( Increasing the voltage a bit to see how it'll do...
Got some D9 Ram coming tomorrow so fingers crossed it'll play MUCH nicer as it can do 800MHz 4-3-3-12 @ 2.25v!
I have an 8400
4x1GB Kingston HyperX 8500
Multi Auto
Strap 333
FSB 444
Mem 1067
Transaction Booster Enabled [3]
Everything else on AUTO
LoadLine Calibration AUTO, with this enabled I can set the CPU voltage to 1.300, my chip needs about 1.288 to be stable under load.
Voltages
CPU 1.350
PLL 1.50
RAM 1.8
FSB 1.1
NB 1.25
SB 1.025
*All voltages are at the lowest settings other than CPU, either I have a cherry board or everyone else is running their volts too high on this board. On the Maximus I need to up the NB to 1.55+ for the same settings, in fact I cannot get the Maximus to run stable @ 1067 for memory without excessive volts.
This is 24x7 stable, PRIME Blend and Small.
you're running a 45nm dual core....think about it.
Given up on FSB for now. Trying the Quad @ 3.4GHz... :D
BTW, does anyone know if the aerial connector on the Premium is the same as the Belkin PCI cards? My Premium was missing the aerial in the box and I cba to RMA it just for the aerial but I may as well pick up an aerial with better range if I can find one to fit...?
thanks for posting the bios im using it dont seem any better or worse then again im using a 65mn chip not even a quad
Rich
435MHz fine now (still testing for more) with some nice D9 ram... :D
Man the beta seems worse than 0504. I was able to do 420fsb on the q9450, but on the new beta 400 is the limit. I'm gonna sell the chip. I'm not spending more money on motherboards.
That sucks! :( What is the best bios before 0504 for FSB? 0504 seems to have the nicest layout within the bios (for ease of use I mean) but I just don't know how it compares to the older bios?
450MHz Priming now. 1.4v vNB and vFSBT and vPLL on Auto for now...
situman try some more tweaking before you give up
Rich
Nah I just don't have as much time as I use to between work and MBA and crap.
well there may be another bios come yet also and may oc better
Rich
Newegg doesn't even have this board listed anymore...It took them well over 4 months just to semi release this beta.
Wow, i thought my quad was bad with a 1.3Vid, and taking 1.44v to run stable at 450x8...
But my mobo is working great, its stable at the lowest voltages on everything except mem and core. :)
1.325v VID and needs 1.464v for 3.4GHz...
