So Jeff how come your not folding that much anymore, you used to be a crazy cruncher :)
Certainly not the most xtreme rig around here, but it does the job. It will be watercooled next week, and i have plans to hopefully do some DI benching in the future.

I think after 7 or 8 years of doing distributed computing projects I finally burned out. That and for the first time in my life I started to get tired of all the fan noise. Beleive it or not I used to actually like hearing all the fans going... kind of like the white-noise that puts you to sleep.Quote:

BTW, I can see myself with a farm of dual dual-core rigs this winter. Seems like AMD may have outdone themselves with thier dual-core chips(except for price that is).
wanna send me one of those sets of video cards? :slobber:Quote:

Holy hell, I have been playing with computers since 1979. Like a fool I always assumed they were all nice and tidy inside a case. Silly me!! So I became a case modder long before that term was used. Hell before there was an internet. Nothing extreme back then just trying to achive a little better ventilation. I put my first side window in in 1994. Not to be cool mind you but to show people what was inside the case. I lit it up with a short strand of the miniature Christmas lights. People thought I was a little out thereeeeeeeee! It felt great when I first started seeing "Modded" cases on the net. I knew I was not alone!!! I used to think I was extreme, now I know I am just "old". Here is my last mod and my current system. I have a new mod in the works but, it is not ready for "Primetime" yet.
It started like this,

Then I did this!!
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v253/WeldZilla/5.jpg
Which meant I had to do this!
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v253/WeldZilla/20.jpg
Which was good cuz it ended up like this!
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...lla/desk_1.jpg
Mounted the rad externally.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...dZilla/127.jpg
By designing the case this way it automatically stealthed all the wiring as the roms were turned sideways. Which meant my wires would all just go out of the view. Very clean inside.

That 3.0 SL6WK runs daily at 4037mhz and the 4400 G.Skill LE runs 1:1
tight and fastall on a little Epox 4PDA2+Ver.2 865 Chipset.

This computer has run flawlessly for almost a year now. It has rendered 100's on hours of video with never so much as a hiccup. I am going to build a new system this year. But I am not canning this one. It has been the best system I have ever had the pleasuring of firing up! Does Xtremely Satisfying Count?
WeldZilla
Holy crap I wish I had that case, that would be perfect for me. With my current setup my computer has to be turned to the side like that, which means I have to get up and reach around the case to get to the drives. That is one hell of a gorgeous mod, and deffinately XTREME!
Thanks gouda, It really has worked out perfectly for my arrangement. I would love to build and market them but,for now I am so busy with all my different projects that there is just no time!!
WZ
Ummmm , not very extreme ...
( a crappy case but ... )

I gotta be a contender for most Extreme air...
Will post a pic when Digicam batteries are charged...
Meanwhile specs...
172x150mm Papst (120ish CFM), 80mm Delta EHE, 80mm Delta SHE, 80mm YStech, SI97, and coming in the next few days, 120mm Delta (190CFM), 92mm Vantec Tornado (120CFM)
That sound good?
Cooling an XP1700@2.5 Daily running/Bench, suicide 2.9 (If it's Really Cold outside) Wanna hit 3Ghz on air, just to annoy people who say it can't be done.
Meanwhile, here's an old pic

I'll get some proper pics of the rig, that just illistrates my "xtremely" ghetto/large monitors.
Second rig (white one, right bottom), Dual XP-M 2500+ @ 2500MHz (currently the fastest 32-bit Athlon w/PCMark04 on the ORB) w/9800pro, and 4 x 80GB RAID5
Second dual proc mobo with one Tbred B 2000+ 2450MHz (awaiting second good clocking chip) without case, sitting on Tbird 1200MHz, 48 ports of switch below main rig to the right of the pic, and rackmount UPS intended for the 10U rack which main rig is sitting on. There's also a dual Celly 300MHz in the cupboard.
All, other than parts of the duallie and main rig, were got second hand! As such, i really haven't spent much. Got three more Skt.A rigs hidden away crunching and two 3GHz CS servers, those shall be for another day!
