help....i flashed bios F5C for DS4...first boot has gone well but but after to have made Load Optimized... the PC it goes and freeza to the phase of boot of the HD and it does not make me to enter in the bios...
I have tried also to detach readers and hd, to reset CMOS and removing the battery but it does not change nothing....how I can make? :(
Well... I have given up on my DQ6. It has been nothing put a pain in the ass dealing with gigabyte. F5d and they still can't get things fixed.
Since it's too late to return it I'm just going to stick my 940 in it and use it for folding, etc...
The P5B I got as a relacement lets me does 390x9 easy. I could never get the DQ6 stable over 366.
I'll check back from time to time to see if any new bios has fixed all of the dq6's problems and I may get another 6600 to put in it.
Mel
i see the DS3 F6b is posted on the guys site.
i flashed it real quick before i left for work but didnt get much time to play with it.
I set the FSB immediately from defualt to 400 x 9 @ 1.34v and rebooted and it booted right up. so thats a good thing.
i'll test more after work.

How much voltage do you guys think i need to get 400FSB?...right now i have the G9MCH) at 0.4V and the FSB set to 0.2V...any thoughts?
Said voltages are just test right now, i'll always try lower volts where i can.

Where did you get/find those release notes? Also, the "fixed smartfan" makes me laugh a little. I had a trouble ticket back and forth with GB on the issue and their official reply to my "It's on the box." was "Features can and will change from model to model." :fact:

BUT...weird bug in F5d...the X-FI soundcard, it's a weird issue of it not being recognised by Windows?....it won't load drivers, keeps looking for them and when i point to the folder it says software not found.
Not sure why this is happening.
P.s. the DQ6 file is F5d beta dated Sept. 11th 2006.
To reach 400FSB i have the (G) MCH set to 0.1V and the FSB also set to 0.1V, 400x7=2800Mhz, with a Vcore of 1.36250.
No stability testing done though, this is on a fresh install of Windows XP Pro SP2.
More on the X-Fi issue, i did a fresh install of the OS, when i booted into Windows i got a new hardware detected warning...this never happens.
Device Manager listed "Multimedia Audio Device", i install the latest drivers and reboot...still a yellow question mark over the soundcard, i manually install drivers and it dosen't find them?
I back the FSB down to normal 266x9...she's detected and driver loaded, now i push back to 400x7...everything in Device Manager seems OK.
Gonna keep an eye on this to see if the soundcard gets lost again, must be a bug or something in the OC or PCI bus speed etc.
richard those X-Fi cards cause all kinds of issues for people.
personally until you can get your system stable.
REMOVE the X-Fi card.....
i dont know what to tell you rich... crank the vcore up to 1.55v and see how far you can go..
i dont understand whats going on with your system but id almost bet you if you sent it to me id have it running at 400 x 9 10 minutes after i got it. lol.
i think there is something your doing or NOT doing in the bios.... something just isnt right.... or maybe the X-Fi is making the system unstable.... ?
hey rich why dont you MSN/AIM/YAhoo me and we can go over some stuff...
Orthos stable for 20 mins now.
