a suitable mosfet is a SSM9915H found on asus motherboards and the CT-479 of all places :) I have a few spare (and I mean a FEW) but we'll have to see if we can get this mod to work. I'll need a card, or persivore and a few diodes ;) to make it happen. Highlander I'm awaiting that card, don't get too wasted tonite :D

Hrm, been having a play with a spare card this weekend, interesting (and somewhat expected results)
Cards are stupidly memory limited. 75mhz core increase nets almost no increase. 50mhz memory gave an extra 2,000 in 01!
Mounting any 3rd party cooling to these cards is a pain in the ass too. Took a custom hold down for the vapo to clear the caps to the left of the core.
The mounting holes are also very close together. Shouldnt be an issue for those wanting to water the cards (afaik Persivore got a maze4 GPU on one without any problems)
One thing for those planning on phasing the GPU, (or in fact water/air might benefit this too) is using an IHS on the GPU. The contact patch is tiny, and with the difficulty in mounting a cooler the larger surface area is welcome!
Single layer on armaflex is about right clearance wise using an upturned A64 IHS, contact with the core was good.

As for mounting Swiftech GPU blocks will also fit as standard, that goes for the TEC version as well. Most socket A heatsinks are oversized for the mounting holes by about 5mm or so on the horizontal, so drilling holes will be a must. I have a detachable bracket from a Swiftech which I will measure and post to help folks with their mounting sizes.

Heres something I noticed tonite when I lifted the HS on my card. The top photo is of the 9600SE core, the one beneath it it of the RV360 used on the XT and PRO. Notice if you will the lower right hand corner and the different configuration of the caps on the core PCB. Does anyone know if this has been looked in to before? If I was to move these caps round on the SE would it think it was a PRO, XT? Any info would be nice :)

As the compo has moved start dates what's the finish time and are you allowing for the bank holiday postage.?
Also is it possible to post test results (stock and clocked benchmarks) in the same day as from tomorra I'm away for two weeks working and could still make the finish date.

Ok this is the VDDQ mod for the 9600SE board, its full size so just the thumbnail here.

A few pointers, the resistor is only 200k because that’s what I had at the time, its pretty sensitive so I'd recommend something like 10-20kohm, make sure you set it so that it initial reading is 0 or as close to 0 ohms for the upper to middle contacts and whatever your VR is rated for on the middle to bottom contacts.
The new MOSFET actually now regulates the Vmem, and the VR you've installed will now set the Vmem voltage. Persivores vmem mod is now Vddq. The card is designed to run both vmem and vddq of the "vddq MOSFET" so this mod should actually be referred to as the VMEM mod!
I've found that if using stock memory voltages a vddq higher than the vmem by about 0.1-0.15 volts works well but if you increase the vmem then make sure the vddq is LOWER than vmem or you'll get massive artifacting.
