@Rodzilla: Actually, what overclock did you manage on this board? If it is something decent, I might bite the bullet and hope that the future bioses iron out the issues =/
It would be really ironic if a board marketed as an overclockers board end up being really bad at it.
It overclocks VERY well! But you won't be able to run your ram at 300MHz with 1T... it's just not gonna happen (~250 - 265 will be your max).
I hit 365Htt prime stable, voltages are all VERY solid... like they are stuck in the software monitors  But a DMM verifies that the voltages are solid. Max volts I could get on my FX-60 was 1.60v BIOS 1.55v actual. But I don't need that much to get my max Dual Prime stable OC of 2.95GHz on the FX-60.
The memory problems with the BIOS will limit your overall OC results.
Note... I'm on a high quality water setup...
Gotcha.
So if I am not using 300Mhz capable premium RAM in the first place and am only looking to hit about 300Mhz FSB through the use of dividers, the odds aren't looking too bad?
That will be cake! but the ram won't make it on 1:1 but if you're looking at using dividers you shouldn't have a problem.Quote:

Thanks. I feel a bit relieved now. I've heard some A8N-SLi Premium have problem with that, which is why I am looking for an alternative.
On a side note, is there any trend in the past that shows earlier motherboard batches to be more problematic than later batches? Assuming the same bios is used.
(Something similar to "Steppings" in CPU)
One more thing about this board , it doesnt have divider 140 and 150 like DFI , just 100 , 133 , 166 , 200 ...
:confused::confused: Yes it does.... ???Quote:

From my personal experiance... and from reading the forums these are all very real problems on the A8R32-MVP RD580 board. I trust not a word of what andantech has to say as they are always dropping the ball on reviews as of late.Quote:

I just got this board today and wasn't worried when I read this thread before ordering. But now I really regret that I didn't wait.
Im having this weird stuttering with the grapichs + and the sound in games. And now when I exited the game and started winamp to listen to some tunes, the same stuttering of the sound occurs again.
Im not canceling out that the problem could be that I didn't format and install a clean copy of windows when i installed the board. I just ripped out my Ultra-d and unistalled all drivers to it and ran Driver Cleaner Pro and got rid of alla traces of the nVidia drivers. But by the sounds of the problems im having this does not seem related to me not running on a fresh OS.
Oh and i flashed the 311 bios the first thing i did before I encountered the problem. Im gonna call ASUS Sweden to morrow and hear what they have to say.
Managed to run a couple of successful PI's @ DDR600 / 1T just before work today!
Will try to post some pics soon...;)
That's awesome news! I'm glad that you had good luck with this board. Pics of A64 tweaker and some BIOS snaps would be cool (Jumper free screen, Chipset config screen, and the mem timing screen)... and what RAM are you using??Quote:

The RAM is in my sig and I'll try to get the screenies tomorrow (at least 24h). (Don't know about the BIOS though as I don't have a decent digicam around.... )
If I remember correctly I have it something like this:
Jumperfree section
Multi: x9
Voltage: 1.45
DDR: 2.7V
V-core: +100mV
NB OverV: all three voltages @ 1.4V
SB OverV: Enabled
PEG: Both on AUTO
DDR Skew: All on AUTO
The main Mem timings were at stock (2.5-4-4-8) and the rest of them were more or less like the ones in this screenie which I used for guidance.

Chipset was:
HT: 600 (3x) [Haven't got to the HT yet...:D ]
HT Link width: 16 bit
Three State: Disabled
The two settings between here were both on OPTIMAL
PLL control: High Speed
(I've used the mobo manual to get the all the entries, so I might have skipped something that's new in the 0311 BIOS....)
Basically I used a very blunt, sledgehammer approach - overshoot at all setting and hope for the best, :D so I know a lot of these settings is probably unneeded or even counter-productive. So far I've only spent about 5 hours playing with this board, so I still have a long way to go...
What differs the most from my previous A8N-E ASUS is the way BIOS settings are written. At first the board did behave like you noticed, i.e. doesn't boot after the BIOS settings are saved, and I used to automatically cut the power after each BIOS tweak (tiny FSB increments were not always needed, in fact the board behaved the same even when I reduced the FSB:confused: )... ...Then all of a sudden, it stopped doing that and now re-boots normally like the previous mobo.
I guess that in my wild altering of every possible BIOS setting, I must have hit the right one....:wasntme:
1:1... amazing results! I would have given up forever if you hadn't proven it was possible here... I wonder if it can ever be replicated...
.:EDIT:. Where would someone get the same ram that you have? :D
good news to me
when i flashed back bios to return this board , and it can run dual 1T :woot:
So i give this board a try , now i'm at 280x10 stable like rock, divider 133 , wish Asus has divider 150 or 140 like DFI
Well, I did give it a tad of "aluminum armouring"....

...but as most of the heatsinks are stone-cold, I don't think this is the reason for it....
As for the availability of the RAM, try asking around their forum: Xtreem Board...
I found it @ http://www.tankguys.biz/ cheap and they have a very good reseller rating! This will be the first order I placed with them.Quote:

I'll be sure to post my results as soon as I get them.
Update: Im now having stuttering during videoplayback to =/
Im gonna do a format and in with a fresh copy of XP tonight and se if that's the problem for me. I can't do anything with my computer right now. No gaming, No videos, No music :(
Yea, there are, but that's the spelling I was given from Team, so I stuck with it ;)Quote:

Also, what bios version are you using.. nice to see it's working quite nice for you. You see, I have the board also, but before I install everything, I want to gather as much information as possible.
Cheers,
No, no stuttering, but then again, except from hardware monitoring software, benching software and M$ Office, I haven't installed anything yet...:D
Too busy tweakin'! (And only about 5 hrs "ON-time" so far....)
...and yea BIOS 0311.
