LOL I am so sure that I've seen that CPU at ebay before, because I remember someone from XS was bidding on it. Man I should have jumped on it, was so cheap!! :D

Semester starts for me today, and I too really need to useup all my LN2
before it evaporates. It's so hard for me to start prepaing for further LN2 benches,
after experiencing all those aches it gave me. :D

Wouldnt a probe in the tube above the core be better for measuring the temps? :confused: I mean the chip is hot in the center alot more than the edge.

so how do you actually apply that tweak.......T_M asked the question a while back but Team Japan didnn't know exactly how he does it....:confused: any chance you guys can share how you do it step by step for best results...moving the file, from what, what type of file...bla bla >>>very interesting tweak nonetheless

I'm not sure about the measuring part, though I usually use 2 probes. One next to the IHS, and the other one on the bottom side of the container. Drilling a hole is better if you can do it.

There isn't really a step known for this one (that's what I heard), because results seem to vary all the time.
As Fredyama mentioned before, prior to running SPI, copying a big file, say around 100MB~4G? or so between the partitions in HDD may result in faster time.
Personally, regarding file size, and partition, I haven't really found a specific setting that suits every circumstance. So the best way would be to try every possible setting by oneself. :)

People who don't want to drill holes use this method don't they? Personally, I don't want to ruin my container's beauty by drilling a whole on the bottom of the pot. lol. So I'm using the above method, too. :) Also one next to the IHS which Steve showed us.

Yep I can understand not wanting to drill a hole in your nice pot. There is one in the pic above tho, tape is just covering. Goes in a few mm. :)

I'm curious what is the most effective; is there much of a diff in temp between your CPU probe and the pot probe?

Big differance for me, can't remeber exactly, but it was almost around 10-15C I think.

The delta between the face of an evap/pot and the ihs should be ~10C....

Hi,just a question...I have received my CABNE0530APMW("T" on the wafer)and I test only 30 minutes under Vapo...
Can be good under -100 dual cascade?

I'd rather prefer using LN2 since it allows you to control temps. Not sure whether 0530 will work under -100. You might want to try using the ricky trick(ACPI multi tweak) if you encounter cold bug. :)

Yes,LN2 it's the best but my wife don't want that I use:D
I think to obtain -60 idle temp under cascade...
hope that my 0530 like.

having idle temps -60ish (194-197 smartguardian) i had a coldbug @ 240mhz.
once i used ACPI multi i could do more than 280MHz, the idle temps where higher than the loaded temps (214-217 idle 208-212 full load)

chances are you'll be able to bench nicely with your cascade + ACPI multi

do a liitle test, using your single stage test how high you can get your HTT. more than 350mhz should be ok as your limit with your cascade can be >280mhz like mine
