That's a beut, gotta admit that... Nice job there M8 ;)
But won't the fans get in the way of airflow to HSs which have the fans mounted on the side (Ninja, Hyper6/6+ and so on)???
Best regards :)

I'll let you know when I have it done :) If this v4 Expert model comes back good then the first proto will be submitted for the Ultra-D bracket. As of now it looks like the ability to use a HSF with the Ultra-D style is going to be much more promising than the expert model.Quote:

These are the biggest fans I can possibly use w/o widdling away any of the remaining space between the two inside edges of the bracket.Quote:

Thanks for the kind words K404. The standoffs screw in to the mobo standoffs and secure the mobo in place while providing a place to mount the bracket, it's a dual purpose setup :D Right now I'm trying to find the right size delrin washers to use at the base of the bracket standoffs as the threaded male end is too long to snug up to the motherboard, but that's a small obsticle which I plan to clear in no time at all once v4 comes in.Quote:

More pix as I get them!
That's sick, any chance of making it out of a sturdy mesh with a solid border to keep it from bending? This would allow for much better airflow and be lighter.
1/4" acrylic isn't going to bend anytime soon, nor does it weigh much at all
I know, but my mesh idea would, which is why it'd need a strong border.Quote:

MORE PIX ARE HERE! :) This will be the production model, going to revamp fragtek.com with order info tonight if I get the time... w00t! Will also place first order of these puppies tonight.
Bad news for you aircooling guys though, this baby just isn't gonna work unless your cooler happens to come straight up and not get very wide (Highrise perhaps??). I will have to do some in house testing to get a compatibility chart together for what it will and will not work with. So for now compatibility stands at watercooling only, perhaps some phase change evaps, depends on the mounting situation. Can someone please give me measurements of the chilly1 evap mounting plate and possibly other mounting kits (Mach 1, Mach 2, LS, XE, etc..). But all in all I don't think thats a bad deal. If you're aircooling that usually means you have a good amount of airflow in these regions anhow and probably dont need additional cooling.
Ok, the pix! :)

Being "Xtreme" doesn't go hand in hand with quiet operation :)
I've just ordered the initial batch of 50 of the v4 brackets and have ordered all of the mounting hardware! Fans will be optional at this stage and delay your order a few days as I won't be stocking any to begin with.
I'll let you know when I get them all in and have a price set for them. Keep your eyes glued to www.fragtek.com for more info (site still under construction, please bear with me).
Yea, guess my quieter watercooling isnt as extreme as your 7500rpm 40mm fans. Shucks... :rolleyes:Quote:

Just took a short vid clip of em... The mic on my cam makes these puppies sound pretty ferocious but I guarantee they're nothing like what you hear in the video to the human ear. After putting my fingers underneath em while running, they move some SERIOUS air... I reckon this will be lowering fet and RAM temps very considerably, in fact I can't even wait to get my Ultra-D version done so I can test it on my current rig. The fans I chose for my personal bracket are just what I wanted, still amazed at how much air those lil suckers push around.

And yes, I took this vid in my kitchen because it was the queitest place I could find. My computer room sounds like an A380 during take off and would have tainted the results more than my cameras mic already has :p hehe
Great video. Man those are whiny... :p:
If the price is right, consider one of the Ultra-D fan mounts ordered.
the rdx200 has the same layout as the expert correct? if so i might get one too
Yup it sure does! I'll let you all know when I've got the first batch in my hands and ready for sale :)Quote:

All mounting hardware will be included, fans will be optional and may delay shipping a bit since I won't be stocking them at first.Quote:

Hrmmmm, haven't thought about that. Didn't orginally intend to include the fan screws seeing as people usually have a small pile of em stashed somewhere :) Would it be something that you would want included in the package?Quote:

Something that would be really cool is if you could pre-run the wires IN the plexi, so that there was a fan connector by where each of the fans go and they all run to a molex plug in on the side or something. That would be really hard to do though, but I think it would be really cool.
Definately would be cool but I don't even want to think of the production cost on something like that, lol.Quote:
