its not even out yet, of course it'll be expensive as all hell :p: and those hexus results seem retarded o.O only 13k for 2x x1900xt's, whereas a xtx is hitting 11.7? wtf is that.Quote:

It was supposed to be an Asus EAX1900XT 512MB card, and it was posted at Rage3D... a home for ATi fanATIc :slap: . Dmac posted the picture of a real ASUS card here. According to 7 phase boxs on the card, this would be X1900 . I don't know it will be XT or XTX. No detail was provided, just only a picture.

 seems Asus has to redo the design of the box as EAX1900XTX doesnt seem to fit.
:slap: i know i got no sense of humor
what does nvidia have to fight against this card?
G71
G71 will most definately whip R580 in traditionally coded games where shader units aren't as big of a deal.
This battle will be very interesting, since the wins and losses will probably be by much-larger-than-usual margins (>5%)
Maybe, but then, modern games are shader bound. Older games, run brilliantly on a X1800XT, so a X1900 won't have any trouble. If it runs really quick on FEA, COD2, etc, and it whoops the G71, it will be a much better buy than the G71.Quote:

They hope it's Q2 '06, but nothing is for sure. Just speculations...
I agree that shading is the future (and current emphasis) of gaming, but considering the G70 did on average twice as many shader ops as the R520, and this G71 will be doing about 34% more shader ops than the R580, only shader-intensive games specifically coded in ATI's favor will run better (like the two on your list).Quote:

3dmark06 should be very pixel shader heavy...so expect little doubt that X1900 will be going against the 7900-Series.

when it started developement, it was endorsed by ATI.Quote:

lol
Yeah R580 should most definately perform substantially better than G70 in FEAR and most upcoming games for this reason. Beware of reviews that try to skew results by benching older games however.
Lets only compare the r520 Vs. g70 and the r580 Vs. g71.Quote:

I would wait until both G71 and r580 release to tell the nVidia fans that they got owned ;)
Right now anything could happen. Everyone thought the g70 would be A LOT better than the r520 when they anounced that it wont be 800 Mhz on core and 32 pipes like the rumors said, but the XT ended up being better than the GTX 256 thanks to the memory constoller.
Thats quite a difference. I just got my X1800XT for $480 from Newegg.Quote:

The X1900XT gains 700 points just going from stock fx-55 to stock fx-60 ... 13k should be possible on air, with even higher speeds, we should see 14k single card breaking with some cascade action....if not 15k :slobber: but thats a bit optimistic :)
In any event, I'm confident that members here with their tweaks etc should have 12.5k 24/7 on air rigs sometime soon
