975X should be better and if not, there is something wrong :P
Isn't the 975 basically just a "tweaked" 955? I don't know how much better it can really be, but that may not stop me from getting one anyway if it supports Conroe :)
Much more than just a tweaked 955. If Intel is putting off i965 until Conroe Launches, then Conroe sure as hell will be supported by i975.Quote:

One question..
The Presler supports multiplier from x12 - x60, any mobo's with that kind of support? or just close?
Thats for the ES versions, regular retail versions will have appropriate mulitplyer for cpu clock speed. example 920 = 14 x 200mhz (2.8ghz) Its highly likely multiplyers will be locked. If they all had unlocked multiplyers it would be an Overclockers Dream ! :DQuote:

a unique situation also occured on Asus P5WD2 mobo (955x chipset) where you can "force" the 14 x multi by setting EIST to "minimum speed" on lower range chips such as my 630. :)
I believe the XE will have unlocked multis

One question - all my Asus P5xxx mobo's
switched power off (like pc is simply turning off) for ~3 sec. before restart. :(
What about 975X Asus?
That's a good question. I'd like to know that also.Quote:

the 840ee is already mp unlocked
plus
according to past experience, es cpu's highest mp= its default ratio
and in cpuz you gonna see (ie. 670ES 14-19)
in 840ee and 955ee, you will see 14-60
thats the difference
that with the 3 secs restart is a bug that has been from the biggining. as soon as you oc over 240 fsb ,this will happen. all the p5wd2 boards do it, something youll have to live with .;)Quote:

No cpu FSB OC'ing at all? (only multip. with 955 ??)
Vcore/Mem.volt. only auto?
And why did you say this one support Conroe? (1333mhz + 930 )
:toast:
So you have owned an EE before?Quote:

Something I dont understand, on Asus board p5xxx, when you do a restart, it turns off the system for 3 seconds then back on.
Thanks
EE = Extraordinarily imprEssive :)Quote:
