Saw your guide t024484, and as I wrote, I'm happy for it, but that's a hardmod, and I'm looking for a softmod ;)
Has anybody found a working bios for the XFX 7800GT with the black PCB. I've tried all the ones posted on the net but I cant seem to get it to 1.5V.
Could someone please post it here if you got it to work.
Thanks
mod done
work, more 25mhz than before,
So I can just change the 1.4V entry to VID 3 and it will give me 1.5V?
I really don't care about how it's labeled. I don't want to muss around with the tables and get more entries.
Update: Yeah, that's all you need to do. I went from 460MHz with no delta to 486MHz with a 50HMz delta. (So 536MHz) My memory also went from about 1.1GHz to 1.2GHz.
one thing before i go with this mod. Will there be any "ill" effect in making this mod, such as make the card dead ? Thanks.
If you do it wrong, yes. But the worst thing that will happen is you need to drop in a PCI videocard and flash the old bios back. (Make sure you save it somewhere)
Did it!
From 530Mhz with some artifacts to 550Mhz no artifacts :) 560mhz bencheable
