1.2 is what comes with the XT, however with the XL I had i couldnt get past 621 on the mem anyway, so the 700MHz ram did me no good.Quote:

Anyways, I decided to test the voltage on the card. I won't go over 1.4V on the tool don't want to damage the card. But anyways the card does undervolt a little.
1.1v on core = 1.075v all the way to i tested up to 1.4v on core = 1.375
1.9v on mem = 1.875v just bumped it up to 2.2v quick and it was 2.175v
So at least you guys know for future tests and knowing what your actually putting through the card :)
Matey, don't stress yourself out. I too have 1.4ns ram.Quote:

But in the mean time I'll try out the new 5.11 cats and see if it helps any :)
Edit: No official boost in speed so guess no changes where really made to these drivers for the X1K line.
The standard ram chips for XL are 1.4ns.
My GeCube also has 1.4. Checked before mounting my Zalman.
XL with 1.4ns (well what ppl have confirmed)
- GeCube
- Sapphire
- HIS
Anyone else have more info?
Ok I saw fugger do this and im curious also. Does increasing the PCI-E Bus damage the card at all? Because I know it does increase the preformance :)
Yea, wondering that as well. I have mine on 105, but 115 seemed to boost his score 1000 points he said! I think the only thing you have to worry about it corrupting your hard drives if they are SATA. Besides that I have heard of nothing else.
Why would it currupt the harddrives if its SATA? I didn't think the PCI-E ran togeather with the SATA devices.
I really want my 9k in my 05 :) And if I can't get any mroe speed out of it currently I will find a way somewhere else. Might just have to up the voltage a wee bit more to break my 9k mark though who knows.
I have heard over and over that the sata bus IS IN FACT part of the other buses. 100 / 3 = IDE and 100 / 2 = SATA or something like that. The IDE bus doesn't mind being over some but SATA is far more finicky. You won't do permanant damage, just may have to format again.
If you don't mind try 115 like Fugger did and let us know what you come up with. I know 105 does me better than 100 so hey. I wouldn't go higher than 115 as if it netted good results im sure fugger would have done so himself.
Hmmm wonder how my sound card and drives will handle this. I'd hate to reformat again thats the only thing since now the systems up and running. Besides the fact I know I'd have to reregister with microcrap if I had to reinstall.Quote:

Well bumped the PCI-E bus up to 110Mhz. Ran an 05 bench and heres my first run result.
Not a single point increase :( Am I doing something wrong?
I doubt u doing anythig wrong. Maybe raising PCI-E bus does nothing? :confused:Quote:

I overclocked my Sapphire X1800XL without a problem. Kept upping core clock until 3dmark05 crashed. Upped voltage by .025 and core clock a few mhz. Ran 05 some more. Did this continously until I hit a wall at 654Mhz and 1.300v (basically, an extra .025v did nothing and I couldn't hit 660MHz).
I worked on the RAM at the same time, but I suggest you follow the same procedure for overclocking the RAM once the core has reached a max.
Things to note:
- Disable all the ATI services at startup and disable the cli -runtime startup key from MSConfig. If those are running while you are running the overclocker they will mess with your settings.
- Make sure you check the driverheaven page for the updated r5xx overclocking tool. He updated the link a few times (http://www.driverheaven.net/showpost...31&postcount=1)
- When using the overclocking utility, set fan speed manually and put it to max. Will help you get a better OC.
My current default cooling clocks are: Core/Mem are 654Hz/783MHz at 1.3v/1.95v. I left IO voltage untouched.
EDIT: I was using 3D clocks, but I have since been only using the 2d clocks (after disabling the ATI services, the options are grayed out anyways).
This is weird. How come X1800XL clocking at XT speeds doesn't score the same in 3dmark05? 8500 vs 9100
I get slightly less than 9100 in 3dmark05 with my x1800XL at XT speeds with my venice at 2.7Ghz. CPU + extra memory is important.
It could be the extra ram?Quote:

guys i seen some pictures with ati tool beta9 that you can raise memory clock with it, but i cant, it still resets to 495Mhz, why? :-)
WOW, ATi own nVidia in PS3 :slapass:Quote:

About ATiTool, the latest beta 9 build can't clock ram yet.
beta 10 can't clock the ram yet either, or set voltages for ram. Just the gpu clocks/core can bet set at this time that I know of.Quote:
