Opteron 146 CABYE 0540 FPMW @ 3.5GHz

a little question:

I have a T-rex II to cool the cpu [venice 3200@290x10 v.core 1.52] and in idle the temp is -6 gradees belove zero without any problem.
With the same temperature, will I have cold bug with opteron 146 2.0ghz ?

Please answer me ;)

Hey,

Got really sick of my Asus board so I went and bought a DFI Ultra-D! Will it support my Opty out of the box? And what BIOS shall I use? Can I use the same version as the SLI-DR boards? Also can I transfer my RAID-0 array over from my Asus board?

Dont think u will get hitted by cold bug
Since most got affected @ -20c idle

Yep it support Opty out of the box
As for bios, it's up to individual preference as different rams and board behaved differently

CPU-Z can't read the divider properly....it's actually 3500/14 = 250.

I just bought my Opteron 146, and it's a CAB2E 0540 FPMW, I can run PiFast @ 3.1ghz watercooled @ 1.6v, haven't tried higher yet, but so far I'm VERY pleased!!! :D

I'll try more benches this weekend of course ;)

LoL no not yet, but that won't be fast ram anyway I guess... maybe, just maybe Gskill 2x1gb or if Ballistix 2x1gb are affordable then I'll get that stuff... but no more 2x512 or so, I want to game smoothly with 2gb of RAM goodness ;)

Just got my 146, ordered it yesterday from newegg (3day shipping) and it came today :) ......Its a CABYE 0540FPMW :woot: Im gonna see what it can do with my Gigabyte board, valueram and stock cooler..........2x1gb OCZ EL Plat. and XP90c w/Panaflow are on the way, possibly DFI Ultra-d if my current board doesnt cut it :D I work all day tomorrow, so Im gonna have to wait till sunday to pop it in.......Ill let you know how it goes

Usually I search for onlineshops on geizhals.at/de and fire up an email to the first 10 shops and ask if they have the stepping I want. Overclockers.de seem to be the only shop with stepping guarantee. It's a bit of a pain to find the CPU of your desire in Germany :(

But luckily the big shops answer in less than 24hours.

That's almost like the one I got earlier this week, only difference is 0308 in the end instead of 0250. Guess they're from the same wafer huh?

I am also tempting in getting another Opteron.
But on the other side 100Mhz more or less dont make that big of a dif.

He is using 140 divisor (140/200 = 7/10), your memory is running on 250Mhz i think. CPU-Z fails reading that divisor. Actually if you use that divisor and then run clockgens you get -1.00Mhz :)

for what? the first page of cpuz is all you need for screenshots totally unneccessary to open the ram tab as well... :stick:
