Also comparisons to 1gb setups might be interesting too.
Finally; does the benefit of 2gb of RAM only come into play with top end setups (FX, X2, 7800's) or is it applicable to any setup?
thanks
Ballistix Tracer.
I meant 2x512 lolQuote:

I wonder how much they'll be.
Considering they need 2.8V just for 250mhz 8-4-4-3, I doubt they'll do too well.Quote:

it doesnt work quite like that drive euro as utt takes 3.6-3.8 volts to reach 275 does that make them bad?? well you just cannot compare ram like that. it uses a different chip then micron like in ballistix i was told from an ocz rep so it will work in a different way then ballistix. bigtoe said they should overclock to 280ish and do 250 at 2.5-3-3 so well see i guess

APRILIA TL320
I know it doesn't ALWAYS work like that... But it seems quite likely that it won't clock that well. .2v more to do looser timings than the Tracer does... Then to top it off our tracer does ~275 with the same 2.6v.
yeah tracer does 275 at 2.6 volts but then it does nothing more usually. anyways i hope your not right about the ocz stuff as id like to try some of that memory out and i hope it clocks well

so is this gold edition the same as was hinted, or will there be a platinum release soon to follow?Quote:

I noticed a huge performance increase in BF2 when i went to 2gb of ram... Especially when loading and the first 30sec of a new map.. it just runs smooth as from the word go
I think we are going to see alot more 2x1gb kits.. Thats where the market is heading.. that way you can still run 1T
to make this clear once and for all: 1T does jack on A64s

Go back and look at the thread where I compared 4x512 @1T vs. 4x512 @ 2T. Granted I'm lucky to be using registered memory, but the results makes a strong case for anyone using unbuffered DDR to go 2x1gig to get the 1T cpc.
Will you notice it in games? Maybe not, but there is a significant performance hit happening whether you believe it or not.
Old Thread, take a look first page near bottom
my rig at SPI 1M:
1T 2x512MB 29.6s
2T 4x512MB 30.4s
thats not much of a difference imo
and theres no way that 2x1GB at ~230mhz 1T will outperform 4x512MB UTT

However drop to 2 x 512 1T 2-2-2-5 250 Mhz and there is a noticable increase. Sandra isnt real world so dont worry about the drop there, focus on the performance drop in the gaming benchmarks.

yeah, but im sure we all will agree that the difference is neglicable.
and from what ive seen it is very hard to get 2x1024 that will do 270+
Try 32m and then say there is not much of a difference. :fact:Quote:
