no, no chip is designed to OC. And besides, if you read what oppainter had to say, at normal temps, his memory controller was just fine.

Well yes and no if AMD had to live with sales from just people with -90c cascades then they would go belly up . Don't get me wrong i'd love to see Opp
hitting high htt and mhz at the same time , I just don't think AMD has too much to answer for . :p: Just my opinion tho so salty grains and all that

BTW what is the actual voltage - the one I calculate myself or the one shown in bios monitor?

For example, if I set
1.35 + 1.35*0.26 = 1.35 + 0.351 = 1.701

But it shows 1.64 or 1.66 in bios. So, which is the real one?

Same with DRAM. If I set 2.7, it always shows ~2.73

You guys cant fault AMD because the memory controller doesnt like -90 deg c, geez, yes it's for overclockers but how many "every day" overclockers are cooling their CPUs to -90 deg c. I really doubt even the FX57 was intended to be cooled at temps that low. Cut AMD some slack on that one, how would you function in a tshirt and shorts at -90 deg c below?? LOL

just because a CPU does not like -90 degree operating temps has nothing to do with a CPU being "bad" :rolleyes:

If the .01% of ppl using PC dont like this then tuff titties :fact:

i can see what you are saying but how man "everyday" overclockers buy a $1,200 chip to get a few hundred extra mhz when a plain a64 will do the same with "everyday" cooling?

When measured with a dmm its pretty close to what it supposed to be using the vid+vid special..

what is the cpu vcore or the vdimm?

the vdimm i dont think i have seen a board yet that doesnt overvolt the vdimm by atleast .1v

have you tried enabling the usb mouse / keyboard in the bios? it defaults to disable

ok this bios rocks my gskill tccd went from 300-303ish benchable at 2.5-3-3-6 to 310 rock stable and 315 benchable!! thats right ddr630 2.5-3-3-6 @ 2.8 volts all tight timings

now the bad side is while testing this out and achieving this wicked mem clock i got blue screen?? was like wtf now one mem module is broken and will get errors at any speed any setting but the other module is perfect and will still do ddr630 2.5-3-3-6 so im not sure if it was the bios or just my mems time to die but ... its dead lol

Well once OPP gets hand on few more FX57, we might have some idea. Some FX-55s had problem going extreme temp back than as well.

A comparison between 704-2 and 704-3 for my Winchester + TCCD.

Settings for 100% stability (prime, spi 32M, memtest, S&M memory test, games, 3D MArk etc...)

Flashed to 704-3, and it fixed my coldboot issues with 5v jumper right off the bat. I was using 623 bios before. DFI rocks!

704-2 is working well for me. 1 x 32M and 2 x 16M Pi tested and no problems so far

Just tried 704-3 and seems my vdimm is overvolted

bios set 2.5v = 2.63v and 2.6v = 2.72v ??
