Just flashed to the "7800A10C-noPB-noHM-470-1300.rom"
I get no difference in overclocks, ( also forgot to change the clocks to normal b4 i flashed, just glad it went ok, pheewww)
also i still do not see my temps.

Use riva tuner for the tweaking and powerstrip 3.61 for overclocking. PowerStrip i shareware but what the heck, a bench disk only holds for so long ;)Quote:

i will be a guine pig when my card arrives.
all i did for water was loosened the block untill i had the correct thermal contact to get exactly 38c (that's what it starts working at for me) so now i'll just sit back and wait for this new driver or bios or whatever is going to happen :)Quote:

Bios worked great for me on both my cards, works fine in SLI mode as well, seeing the temps really doesnt bother me, the whole point of flashing the cards was because they was to cold, and besides, i can see the water temps.
Thank You very much for helping us out with this "cold bug"
cheers all,
as for many of you claimed 530 as the wall, im thinking that it may be related to the +40 Geometry clock, which is running @ 570 at that time, probably tweak that clock down to the same clock as shader and rop will solve the problem.....
hi all,
here is the latest modded bios
now geometry clock = shader clock= rop clock=470
other things is the same 470 1300 1.4v no coldbug :D
guys with rivatuner 15.7 can testify it, others may just try this bios to see if it gives more o/c ability, use at your own risk tho :D
[update] one of my m8 tested it, seems got some problems
i deleted the bios
What went wrong??? any idea? wich is the latest stable that u leaked?Quote:

You got PM Victor.
I'll sumbit it here for everyone to coment on it:
My thougt on the problem with the different clock domains is that it can be solved by forcing the card to operate in 2D mode. I've tried this with RT and it works great. It's just that the vcore drops to 1.2V so 470MHz is the limit for me with default cooling.
Do you think that you can make a BIOS only working in 2D mode @ 1.4V. with standard clocks of 450/1300? In 2D all the domains will work of the same multipel and totally syncronos without the +40 thingy.
he flashed it, but cant boot into windows when drivers is loaded, uninstall the driver under safe mode, he can get into the os, but once the driver is installed, the same thing happensQuote:

i think we can diable the performace tableQuote:

wheres this DET driver they been promising to remove the bug and allegedly be better for clocking? ggrrr :(
hmm, so far i could back up the original bios to the floppy in dos, butthe command to flash, nvflash -5 -6 bios.rom doesn't work, keeps saying I/O error can't open file, am i doing something stupid. i put in the actual bios name, which is the nopb, nohm, 470/1300 version, onto a gigabyte 7800gtx. at the moment i can't run anything as its too cool and just throttles. :( any help or pointers welcomed.
here is the correct typing needed.Quote:

here is my results.
504(546)/1370 = 9092 3Dmark05 default bios on air.
530(530)/1377 = 9053 3Dmark05 modded bios on water.
it seems that the modded bios geo clock stays at the overclock speed when in 3D instead of boosting the extra 35-40mhz. so i am stuck at a wall at the moment.
Guys that are wondering why it shows higherclocks in the 3dmark scores, Look at this that i made.
Now onto the bios topic, Will modding my bios void my warrenty? I was shipped a BFG 7800gtx with 460/1200 clocks, when 460/1300 was advertised on the site, this is fixed with a bios update, yet i can't find one on the BFG website.
the extra 40Mhz is the Geometry clock, its running @ 40+ speed that of shader clock and ROP clock....Quote:

the new Nibitor 2.3 support Geoclock mod already, works fine
What if the flash fails? is the card screwed? or can you reflash?Quote:

I read through this a bit ...BUT I never noticed any one mention the fact a 7800GTX in a 3d performance mode automaticly PUMPS up the core 40 Mhz from what ever setting you select..So at say stock of 430 when you bench or game the card it jumps to 470..And setting clock at 500 means you have to add 40Mhz to that when stressing it in 3d performance mode...
If this has been covered please ignor it..However if not I would suggest your difficulity is due to this feature . . .
Is anyone still flashing these BIOS files? If so, How's it going? If not, what BIOS' are you flashing now?
I think i will try one of your bios Victor, on my ASUS 7800GTX... Now, with the stock bios and stock cooling i'm achieving 520 / 1350 for day use...
Keep on the good work m8 :toast:
I stopped using the modded bios files as soon as i vmodded my card. i now use the original bios. vmod is the only way to increase your voltage.
The main reason for flashing to this bios is to disable temp. monitoringr. I used the 500/1400 one in post 46. This card hits easily over 1450 w/o mod so all is good w/ that one. :) BTW I am vmodded also. ;)Quote:
