I think i'm going to get one of these beauties but was wondering if my Tagan TG480-U01 480W PSU will work?
My tagan is not the SLI compatible version with the two shielded PCI-E cables, but has a native 24-pin connector (with 20-pin for my NF2 Infinity), and also has a 4-pin and 8-pin connector :confused: :confused:

if it has the 8 pin connector you should be fine to run this board.

I can't wait to upgrade to a new A64 system in september with one of these boards.
Just wan't to plonk in my bh-5 and go for a nice 270fsb over 3.6V and hope they don't :explode2:

Maybe something in a comment from Anandtech at Computex, about DFI being "pushed" in to useing ATI's SB, wile others showed their offerings with a nice ULI SB on their boards.
Although it was covered by a heatsink, DFI will try to use ATI's South Bridge for their motherboard because of pressure from ATI.

apparently no adapter to the 8 pin, so another $30 mod + shipping to the pcpc510 to get the 8 pin connector.
I guess we will just have to see what Sapphire or Abit has to offer.

Sorry, I mean't Computex, I saw that article @ anandtech too. It's my speculation as to the major reason for the slow release of the Crossfire boards. ATI is putting pressure on most (if not all) manufacturers to use the their (then) buggy SB. Here is the pic I saw, looks like it's the DFI board given the black PCB and the date of Computex.Quote:

I hope people don't keep jumping to conclusions on the bugs this thing will have either. :rolleyes: Its an entirely new chipset, it isnt going to behave like the NF4, i'm sure. NF3 behaves differently from the NF4, so I'd imagine this will be very different too.

Excuse me. If you're referring to my comments about the buggy SB450, I'm not jumping to conclusions or assuming anything. If you read what was reported at anandtech, the manufacturers themselves came out and said the ATI's southbridge was buggy (as of 5/30/05) while the ULi southbridge worked fine.Quote:

Paper launches and launches that really need another 3 months in the labs are really starting to annoy me these days as it is happening far too often
