It will prolly be ok after it dries out, they usually are. It just wouldn't run after a certain point(I run the dothan on full tilt now with container always 1/4 full -184c evap temps can make for a really ice situation. These chips don't put out much heat.) The one that died wasn't prepared at all. I got lazy there and was pushing my luck.

USUALLY... I had my old DFI LP UT sit in a huge puddle for 2 hours while I kept trying to turn it on and it worked fine 2 days later, than it just died after a bit of melted ice from my dry ice tube base got under some caps :(

I hope your board is ok though, P4C's arn't cheap.

I was thinking the same but he must know that winxp is slower so therefore a waste of time to bench on anything less than the best os, win2k being it.

FWIW, Dothan IS the stronger gaming CPU... macci showed that with a DOOM3 time demo that crushed an FX55.

The AMD defenders are starting to sound like the Intel defenders of "last year". lol...

I'm sorry, but in regards to 3d benching I do not rate Dothan at all, there is a saying too little, too late but in the case of Dothan it is too much, far far too late. Unless anyone knows of an SLi Asus 865/875 motherboard or that nvidia and Ati are going to cancel r520 or G70 ;)

Dothan will be the biggest flash in the pan there has ever been, I'm afraid, in regards to 3dmark, not becuse of itself but because it has a motherboard so old it is made of wood and bronze.

However,it is a good pointer to the future for Intel, but it will be sometime yet I think before the FX platform is threatened. At present it is better suited to running superpi.

I'm pretty sure k|ingp|n can grab 2001 though as a first and last hurragh for the chip ..good luck.

Have you been out in your shed everytime Fugger has spoken about the upcoming Socket 480 platform? It will be a REAL Dothan platform, and i can hardly imagine they'll make it AGP :)

And to GF4:

Please, read around the forums! You totally disregard results as well as benchmarks.

When comparing X800XTPE to 6800U, your terminology has always been like "X800XTPE owns 6800U by 4FPS!!! :slobber:", and now, when the Dothans completely rules SuperPI, is a strong 3DMark competitor and is a really strong choice when it comes to silent rigs, you're not really sure if that is a lead at all.. :D

Thanx...03' usually is a bit harder on the card/cpu than 05'. I spent most of my time benching 05', and gave the card/cpu just enough to take 03' single card WR. Going for 20k+ will need 875+ on the core most likely. I want the single card "Quad-fecta" in all four benchmarks :P.(01,03,05,am3), and won't stop till I get it, or hardware all vaporizes lol. Am3 and 01' scores could end up being #1 overall. 3 down, 1 to go.

The darkside is becoming more powerful every day :shock:

Macci's 9500 05' score with crossfire card, and OPP's 44.8k sli score in 01' are a near impossible challenge to begin with...I'm up to it though, and so is the dothan.

Is'nt that for Yonah and is only single channel memory ?

Even if it is double channel and for Dothan I would guess it is an intel chipset and thus no SLi or AMR so therefore not #1 in 3dmark2001, 03 or 05.

Gotcha....was just wondering I know I had my non-PE up to 855 for 03 on DI. I was just wondering if you had walled.(Guess not since you're talkin about runnin 875 :) ) Now that my card is dead think I am gonna grab a PE for the crossfire and work on grabbin a dewar. It's just amazing what you're doing w/ that Dothan. GL w/ the "quad" :toast:

Yes of course, it will be Yonah - my bad, i wrote Dothan when i meant Pentium-M :) Single channel?! I haven't heard that, but that would seem like endless stupidity! :confused:

If/when Pentium-M becomes recognised as a "real" desktop platform, what would stop nVidia/ATi from making s480 counterparts to their 939/775-compatible series?

Been working on getting 2 sticks bh-5 stable at 270+ on p4c800-e and a few mobos and 8 sticks later, I finally got it. Board seems to love this ram. LOL, I though these sticks were junk, because I could never get them to clock decent at all on any a64 board I tried them on.....guess not.

Oh, btw... to illustrate the power of Dothan FURTHER... yesterday I was playing with x800xl agp and running LobbyLow at 3000mHz, I saw peak FPS of 940...

I seem to remember somebody saying once that 3dmark tops out at 999fps?? Is that true? Or does it go into 4-digits?
