Its Off Again!!! Hahahahahhaha
There's an update...I haven't read it yet...
http://www.tomshardware.com/cpu/20050603/index.html
Looks almost like they're reading this thread...but they dont' shed any light on why the SECOND intel mobo was replaced.
Basically they say, sure the intel rig crashed a bajillion times coincidentally right around 70*C reading every time, but that's gigabyte's fault.
I do like how they try to blame AMD for farcry timedemo having a set limit of 1000 runs though.
I wonder how long it takes before they finally cave, upgrade the cooling on the intel and admit it runs hot as donkey s***.

edit .... AHHHHHH THE AMD IS TURNED OFF!!! lol, i guess they gonna switch out mobos of both cpus?
It doesn't help Intel's case that they are also responsilbe for the chipset, and that the boards in use are based off of their reference design.
They peaked with the 440BX, it's been downhill for 7 years.
wtf they turned both off and reset them completly. They better not be starting the test again just to give intel another chance.
THEY LIVE!... wut did they do? switch both to single gfx?

Cripple the one that works and start over to hopefully give the failing one more chances. If they keep the counters reset and keep configs the way they are now all credability is gone in my opinion.

no, i dun think they switched boards, but they took one of the gfx cards out from the amd system i think
edit: and ya, they do need to stop resetting the gd counters, just so u kno, das 5 for the intel, and 0 for amd, or 6 for intel and 1 for amd, one being involuntary for amd ...
hmmm... if you examine the pictures... I think the nb chip location on the Gigabyte's mobo was kinda wrong/bad... too close to the CPU (and it gets closer with the HSF mounted). Hence, with the CPU's running hot, that's why the chipset cooler wasn't good enough (the CPU HSF is more taller, and it makes the airflow very2 bad, this caused the nb HSF are getting hot air from the cpu HSF)... and it gets hotter because it's nb is already running very hot (according to THG analysis).
ima have to disagree, cuz its about the same distance on the asus also, i think its cuz of the lack of fans
Toms once again demonstrates why their site is a joke.
I'm almost sure that the current Intel Mobo is an Asus P5Wd2 Premium with Intel 955. The first Asus Intel board (second in test) was Asus P5ND2-SLI NF4 intel edition for sure. I remember it by the cool maroon heatsink.

^^ im with you why they take quit sli why they changed mobo why they are always trying to make intel rig looks better .....
lol, ya, before they restarted it a lil while ago, they just booted up amd system and let it go to windows, they did some bios tweaking in the intel, sigh, LET IT BE! intell loses, hands down
is not fair intel rig 0 reboots and the amd rig had 100+ hours working without a flaw...
just absurd test
edit : i hope the intell cpu melts, was the biggest part of the post, i thot i clicked quote :(
Lol ! Look at temps ! Intel is at 90°C and AMD is at 55°C :owned:
Yeah and i'm pissed off because they reseted the restart counter :slapass:
It doesn't have any real objectivity now :slap:
5....4.....3......2.......1..... Crash
maybe they dont know how to put a hsf correctly or maybe they forgot to put as5 or perhaps fugger should send to them his triple cascade to cool that cpu
lol, my dream of melted cpu is coming true !!!! but seriously, how the hell is it still running at that temp!??!?! its about to fing boil
Does anyone else think intel runs on lower than stock voltage ???
They should use thermal pad which came with boxed cooler.Quote:
