The rear speaker cables are OVER 20 feet, I am not going to dig it out, but I measured what I can see, and I got more than 20 feet. Look online on Newegg, or on Logitech's website, it should say there...

PS- Yes, I have them too...

Wow .. nice .. is that logitech's standard or just for that particular model ? Man.. this is awesome, now I know that I can install that speaker on the other side of the room for sure.. :)
I still don't understand why you didn't just mount the speakers using the holes in the bases of the satellites. Oh well, as long as you are satisfied with it. Everything is still looking good, Turok.
Bonjour
Im here in Avignon, France.
Ive been turing though several cities in france, doing quick visits at some important sites.
Ive been in Paris, Lion, Marsella, Canes, Monte Carlos, Avignon, and I think thats all
I posted this post in a "Cyber Café" here in Avignon.
Its kinda strange how these French keyboards are layed out :p:
In 2 days, Ill be in Madrid, Spain.
Ill stay there about a day and Ill go back to Pflugerville, TX
(its a district close to Austin)
This project was my first time sleeving cables. Had trouble getting the trick at first. I would recomend sleeving on less important cables first.Quote:

yeah, I hated those old school PCs I had :p:Quote:
That's amazing dude..! I would have done that if my parents weren't tight-wads! :sigh:
Now I am stuck with no watercooling, no Deck keyboard, lame mouse, sucky speakers (actually quite good), no uv lights, no window, lame lame lame..! My rant is over and done with.. Love your rig man and the whole area ta boot!
Well, you can atleast update ;)
I ended up convincing my parents because they thought I was doing a good job with the builds I maid for other people and wanted me to improve (or learn more)
You could always throw that excuse to them :D
yeah, the speakers are really long.Quote:
Turok,
Just curious on that speaker of yours, how long is the cable for your rear speaker ? I was thinking about getting the same speaker but I'm afraid the rear speaker cable won't be long enough.
I dont know how long the cable is since I, in France, but they are really long. 20 ft sounds acurate.
Note that I bought 2 of these. The first one had a coaxal plug and couldnt be removed, but my new one had that black-red cable, which is what I have now on my PC. If you get the one zith the Black-red cable, you could always buy a longer cable.
Well, I did this because of the front right speaker being blocked by the case, and I cant put them directly next to my ears because thats how the surround speakers would go, so what I did was I placed the front speakers zith the mount facing front, but instead of a 90° angle on the side wall, I placed them with a 65° angle so its facing me a bit so the sound waves going in front reach me.Quote:

The back ones have a 30° angle from the wall, because they arent right next to my ears becaus they would be too close to the front speakers.
This way the back speakers wave can also intersect the seating place.
It may sound a bit confusing how I explain this.
Ill try to illustrate this with some pics when I get back.
If there are so,e typing errors; its because of this French keyboard.
It has the keys placed in different places, but at least it has the degree symbol ( ° ) available :D
An example of key placement is that the A and Q keys are switched arround; so I may of typed Q where a A was supose to be. :slap:
Turok
Ok, thanks for the help. Btw, I've sometimes wanted to go to France. I'll remember to bring my own heyboard if I ever go :p:

Why the PC-65B over the 75B? Is it too big or what? I'm currently making case decisions and those two are the main ones I'm currently looking at.
Usama aka Ferrari Freak
I chose the PC-65B because it was $100 cheaper, I didnt need the extra space because I was going to have my core outside, and I just didnt want more than what I needed.Quote:

If it doesnt fit, Ill just make a exterior box that works as a air tunnel for my monster core and I put the pump in there so the air that the monster core blows can also cool down the Iwaki pump :D
I recommend the PC-65B if you want the core outside and want a more compact, and cheaper solution
Go for the PC-75B if you have the money and want to put dual fan cores in there. You will have to mode your case to do that tho.
Turok
Will a Chipset block fit on that MB with thye PCI-E cards in the way? Looks like very little room to do anything with...
I wish I could have a bad ass water cooling setup but I am unsure on how to do it...
What would you recommend for a cooling system?
If I did it I would want to do my CPU, GPU, and Chipset.
If you can, can you attach links and good places to get the stuff from...Water Cooling is new to me and would love to get into it.
I like ZipZoomFly.com and SVC.comQuote:

Reduces case temps because heat is released faster

Expensive
Requires maintainance just in case of corrosion
Highly dependent on ambient temps
Water Cooling (WC) is a good start for other xtreme cooling methods that also use a water cooling solution. These are:
Peltier: Its a electromagnetic cooling solution where you have a plate that is connected by a high voltage power source. One side of the plate gets hot, and the other side gets cold. The cold side transfers heat though a copper plate and then directly to the processor, and the hot side goes to a waterblock which then disipates heat into a WC solution. Requires insolation in the processor area because it can go below 0 C
Chilling: Involves freezing the radiator or the water with another cooling source or something that is really cold. You can chill your loop with dry ice on your radiator, or a frige that blows a cool breeze to the radiator. Requires a lot of insolation all around the loop.
What do you get and how do you set it up?
You asically need the following:
1) A pump: I got a Aqua Xtreme 50z and I may think on updating to a Iwaki pump for better flow
2) The water blocks: I would recommend a TDX for CPU, Maze4 for GPU, and a custom block for a DFI nf4 chipset
3) A reservoir or a T-Line: I used the T-Line solution. Its cheaper and more simple to set up
4) A radiator or a heatcore: heatcore are better and cheaper, but require customization in order to work with your fittings. Heatcores were used in cars cooled by water. I got mine from someone in the forums called Weapon. He makes the best cores out there. PM him if you are interrested
5) Tubes: I used 17/6" ID (Iner Diameter) tubes on 1/2" fittings
6) Fittings, Clamps, teflon tape, etc. to secure the tubes Since I used a smaller tube for larger fittings. The presure holds it tight so I dont have to clamp it. Loops more clean this way, and could be more secure because water could slip though the clamps if the tube isnt tight enough.
7) A fluid: Zerex + Distilled water is what I used. Prevents corrosion and protects your loop
This thread is a continuation of another thread where I build my first WC solution. I didnt know much about WC when I started the thread, so you could use it as a guide
Go here for my Water Cooling Questions thread:
http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...ad.php?t=58879
Sites where you can buy:
PC hardwareparts. They could also sell waterblocks, fans, filters, etc. cheaper, so make sure you check all of them for any parts.
www.newegg.com
www.zipzoomfly.com
www.monarchcomputer.com
www.xoxide.com
www.frozencpu.com (I wouldonly use this as a last resort. Their service isnt so good. Click here for a thread where I complain about some things FrozenCPU gave me)
Popular WC stores
www.dangerden.com (They sell a lot of WC stuff here. Here you can find the Maze4 and TDX and RBX blocks)
www.marinedepot.com (For Iwake pumps)
www.cooltechnica.com (You can find AX 50z's here)
www.usplastics.com (a lot of tubeing options. Here I found the 17/6" ID tubes with EnJoY's help)
I just got my 850 Watt PC P&C PSU from Frozen CPU, they where great for me...
I should also put in a good word for EastLuna, where I tried to buy the PSU at first. They didn't have it, and they called me promptly, we discussed what we would do, and then they found other places that had it in stock, and cancelled my order, per my request, and the best part?? No Indian/Asian person on the phone, so I didn't have to ask him to slow it down, way down, and say "what?" after every sentence (I hate Dell, for this reason mainly).
I am getting WCing soon, can't wait :)
BTW, Turok, which RAM slots would you reccomend? Yellow/Yellow, or Orange/Orange?
Mind if I pester you with some more questions? (I have still to read tha manual, but...) Do you know which SATA ports are on the nV Raid controller? The lower ones on the board, or the higher ones, or does it not matter?
OK, I am full of questions. Am I supposed to have the CPU and RAM and everything else in when I flash it to a newer BIOS?
Thanks,
Yan
In order to make it easier to take track of what you are doing, open a new thread like my "Water Cooling Questions" thread. Put a question mark on the side of the thread tittle so its easier to see afther it gets lost between all the other threads :p:Quote:

About FrozenCPU.com, they have good stuff, but somethings are a rip off and other things are a frod. With what happened to me, I wouldnt buy any small accessories from them unless its a fan accessory or a case badge.
About the WC, post it in your new thread what you plan on buying so me and everyone else can hint you on any problems ;)
About the DIMM slots, Orange/Orange is the best, since its what lets you use the Dual channel mod in the DFI nF4 mobos
About the SATA RAID, the best would be the ones on top (on the right of the chipset fan). They fully support SATA 2 and I think they have a faster RAID support, since the bottom one is controlled by a small chip thats on the side of the bottom ones.
BTW, if you are asking about this, then it must be because you got a SLI board. The Ultra-D's dont have them, and I dont think you really need more than 4 drives in SATA RAID :P
No, you dont need all the hardware to make a successfull BIOS flash, but you do need the CPU and RAM to boot the system for the first time, you would also need a floppy if you want to flash it without a HDD (Hard Drive), since you could instal your OS and flash it with WinFlash.Quote:

It wouldnt be the best for gaming, but you could OC, surf the net, watch movies, use photoshop, etc wile you wait.
You could probably play CS 1.6 on the on-board card.
BTW, I think using on-board stuff heats up the chipset a lot. Just a note for those who say the chipset doesnt get hot. If this is true, then some Xtreme OCers should cool down their chipset if they are only using onboard to benchmark
Ill see you in the new thread (thats if you open it)
Turok
I am about to... I have it built.... Here is a sneak peak before I make the thread (it will probably take a few hours.... With picture organizing, resizing, hosting etc. etc.
I am waiting to buy a few parts; the monitor, and water cooling primarily...
Here is the sneak peak... I suck with cameras, and the one I took it with isn't very good (there is no point with my skill, LOL ;) ) It is turned ON in that picture by the way.... There are 13 fan's in it, including the Chipset, Video Card, and Heatsink fan's...

More to come once I make the new thread....

Your solution looks way better in airflow, but its because of the size of your UFO case
Im planning on changeing to some other red LED fans that look like those, but they are red, and 80mm with about 10 CFM more than what I have now. Could improve airflow a lot since my case temps are around 50 C :p:
I have more upgrades in mind, but I need to build up money to do that
Ill keep posting here wenever my curent PC has somehting new on it
Give me a link to your thread when you finish
I know its hard work, I had to do it too.
Im thinking of changeing the order of my pics so every pic is below another.
Im guessing a lot of people missed the ones on the far right because its a bit frustrating to scroll sideways
BTW, if you are going to buy a monitor, im thinking on upgrading to a Dell 2405fpw, so I would like to sell my NEC FE991sb Black (19" CRT) for $200
If you are interrested, please PM me
Turok
nice job man
Turok, I have a 15" LCD.... So I am set until I order the new one, plus CRT's give me eye/head pain, and they cause brain cancer....
IYP, you talking to me, or Turok?
Yan
PS- I am leaving tomorrow early, and if I don't make the thread before then, I won't make it for a while I get back on the 16th/17th, and am only home for a few days, so it could be quite a while until I get it done... I will keep you posted...
Sorry but... your room looks so boring :stick: :p:Quote:

I dont have too much old hardware to group up for another PC so it doesnt feel so empty, and Im limited in space for any extra furniture.
Ive been thinking about getting a rolling chair, the 2405FPW LCD, a new curtain that blocks outside sunlight better so I dont have too much glare on my screen in the day, and maybe painting the walls with a better color combination.
The thing is I dont have too much space, and if I start putting stuff arround my room, it will look less "presentable"
Any ideas on how to improve my room a bit?
Show some pics of your room if you want
EDIT: also, thats how the room was when I bought the house 2 years ago.
Its the style of these American homes (which I dont like) :p:
You are from the Netherlands, Im from Venezuela living in the US
turok, if you dont mind me asking why in the world did you move from venezuela to texas?
and lol.. this isnt xtreme home decorating!
damn it.... then wtf am i doing here :doh:Quote:
