Do I need to scratch off the epoxy for the 2 contacts aboce the "SLI" mod with the new ones that come epoxied??
The one that I'm pointing at in the pic I stole off "Dani" & edited...
I'm assuming that i wouldn't need to scrape off those 2 where the arrow points to as it's got nothing to do with the "SLI" mod...
Can anyone verify it??

SLI mod on ulra-d is useless with 2x7800GTX....

I can understand the DFI NF4-D but I'm assuming that with the DFI NF4 Ultra-D modded to SLI, you'd be able to run any SLI combo...
BTW, this is the first time I've hard-modded a mobo/GPU without killing it...
In other words, my first attempt was a success... Really wanna set it up in my case but I NEED sleep...
I booted up my Ultra-D on an open bench & was damn happy to see the words: NF4 SLI...
So, DUMO, please explain why you think that the Ultra-D is useless with 2x7800GTX??
I can understand it if you said that the DFI NF4-D was not able to run 2x7800GTX but not the NF4 Ultra-D with their 2xPCI-E 16x slots...
If that was the case, why would anyone mod their Ultra-D??
I've read somewhere that ppl were able to run 2x600/6800/Ultra in SLI with these board (Ultra-D)....
So, any secrets you wanna let out the bag??
Cheers,
minh
Yup thats correct you dont need to do anything to the ones on top.. :)Quote:

i took my chipset off earlier today to put some AS5 on it. noticed that my chipset didn't have any epoxy on it, so i went ahead and modded mine to SLI.
i only bought the board two months ago, and figured it probably had the epoxy on it. i guess i got lucky...as i wasn't even planning on modding it, but i couldn't resist knowing there wasn't anything in between me and those 2 contacts
Hmm...
Thats weird...
On the first picture in this Thread the the first Sata one Bridge is the upper right one.
But why isn't this one epoxied? Only the left and the middle one are epoxied.
And what about these black resistors? In early versions they weren't there only some brdiges, but theses black things don't seem to contact the bridges.
Would it be enough to connect the bridges with conductive silver?
And what about the SLI mod? Why the right one, when the other 2 are epoxied?
Just modded mine will see if it works in 30 minutes
is it still possible to purchase the link from atacom? It didnt look like it was when i checked the link.
If you email Donna @ DFI she will be able to hook you up.. Just say that you need a replacement bridge for an SLI mobo and you will NOT have any problems.. ;)Quote:
