GF4, longer pipelines does not necisarily mean a lower ipc. Just cause preshot had a 31 stage pipe, doesnt mean that longer pipes = bad.

If it helps, these CPU's were simply pulls off the manufacturing line, they were not hand-picked in any way - we didn't have any idea about their OC'ing capabilities until we actually put them under the knife.Quote:

One day before the believed relese day, no sign that Venice even exists have been shown by retailors. Is it possible the April 4th relese date is just a rumor?
There were some Swiss retailers who were advertising the chips as far back as a few weeks ago - beyond that I'm not sure.
Is there any sites on the east coast? They will have the venice out first probably since they will be at midnight first. It sucks having to wait 25 hours the final day before the venice. :(
lol..." The Venice"Quote:

Well, in that case it's AMD themselves that started this supposed rumor. :p:Quote:

WE HAVE TO GET A NICKNAME FOR THE VENICE !!!!
Winchester already took Winnie, Winchy, Winchie, Winny. So we cant use Veny or something !!!
Hows about....Venc ? Vency ? umm.....or hows about vnc as short for Venice ??? hmmm....
*and no smart comments like..."Why dont we just call it Venice? lol*
Perkam
vennie? ven? i mean isn't venice short enough tho, winchester is just so long compared to winnie....sorry, had to say it :D
How about VenICE ?
winchester got its nick cuz its just a pain in the ass to write the whole name.. venice is shorter.. therefor: venice remains venice.Quote:

My guesses: Nice, Nicy, Nick, Vice, Niece :D
edit:
Fairydust thought of the same name while i was reading the thread
And I agree there is really no need for a nickname.

Why not go for 2, San Diego needs a nick too then.
My suggestion San D. = Sandy
I like Sandy, that's a good one - as for Venice, it is hard to shorten a six letter word . . .
You can only call your Venice "Vinny" if its rough, tough and pushes around a lot of flops. :p:Quote:

On the Eastern coast, we are 5 hours away from the relese date and nothing has been spotted as of yet. Keep looking everyone!

Good news
My dfi sli dr and my bh5(277mhz)/vx(272mhz) are waiting for a new cpu, hopefully a 3500+ venice (11x multi for my mems :D )
I am beggining to see all of you hitting the refresh button :D
You are going to wear out your left buttons :comp10:
Monarch was the first place to have the winchesters for sale from what I understand. Also, no one knows who will have them and when for sure. Speculation is that tomorrow there should be at least 1 place to have them on sale.
