I've read through this whole thread man, and that's some BS :( I hope malves can bring life to it again for ya
Thanks man.
Sorry, bro.:( Nothing!:( Soldered the pin, but no post.:(
So my Board and CPU are dead? Thats just great. Send the stuff back when u get a chance. Thanks Malves for your help. Wonder if maybe its just the CPU itself and thats why board wont post?
168 for board
180 for the sl6z5 2.8 costa rica
70 for modding
45 for shipping of modded components
$463.00 plus allot of pain and suffering and my neck hurts.
Well thats a good amount for Small Claims huh, Talk soon Ron.
Thanks again Malves
The cpu is dead. The board you could try another cpu on it and see if it works. I tried everything I could, bro. I am really sorry.:(
I heard from someone just recently, they have taken there broken processors to jewelers and gotten them fixed. Might be worth a shot to see if they can do it.
Yeah, the thing I need to do is figure out if its the processor or the CPU which is causing the problem though. I am sure Malves did a good soldering job on the chip, at least good enough to make it boot. I just need to find a P4 or P4 board that I can find out which thing is broken. Honestly I'd rather it be the chip, especially if board has been fine whole time, at least its all modded and such.
In a pm I have offered a working cpu to sierra to see if we can sort this entire mess out.
Really appreciate it man. I sent u a PM. Everyone I know is either on Old machines or AMD so I have no P4 to test with. Check your PM, details in there.
Now I'm hoping its the chip..lol. This is almost funny.
First, check out the PSU: let him run without anything attached but the fans inside, and measure with a DMM ($5 in local store) the voltagerails. On the sticker on the side of the PSU should be noted which color should have which voltage. Powering it up w/o mobo is done by shorting the green pin with any of the black ones.
Then, just unhook _everything_ and hook it up to another PC. See if it works. If yes, hook everything in _just the same_ way you did with the other PC on youre Asus. Still no boot? Try another CPU, other RAM. Still no boot? Prolly your mobo. Try to score another mobo from a friend, and try to rebuild your PC with that lend mobo. If it works, you now know what causes the trouble :)
Oh and by the way: ever thought about the fact that maybe YOU :banana::banana::banana:ed up your mobo? The way you are writing here, makes me think that you don't really know a lot about vmods (NOFI!); so don't be angry with HF if you are the one that supplied 2.2V to your CPU :stick: Keep that in mind :toast:
Well ZMarre, Your Hell-Fire under different name aren't you. Well No ZMarre I never considered it was me. I have never even been able to boot the computer since I sent everything away to you or whoever u are. You know, I think I may take a drive over to N.C. next week if the local P.D. doesn 't take care of this(The list of people who have contacted the PD for Hell-Fire is getting long. Oh and by the way, if your hell-fire.:banana::banana::banana: off :banana::banana::banana::banana::banana::b anana:, thanks for :banana::banana::banana:ing up my god damn computer in just about every weay you could. This is really some serious BS. Oh and ZMarre, I realize your a pro and all, but dont question something u have no idea about, go eat your waffles and stay out of this.
Look when ZMarre made his account, about 1.5 years before HF was banned.
I was kind of just kidding, but i know hell-fire is around here somewhere. Just wanted him to get in touch with us guys but it looks as though there is no stopping the progression of this now. no offens to Zmarre.
sierra248 - I understand your frustration but

The forums aren't the place for this.
Please take this problem to a Personal Message.
thanks runmc ;)
Errr, first I want to apologize (is that written good?) because I was so stupid I didn't notice this thread had multiple pages :poke: (really the first time this happened...) So you have to keep in mind my post should be after the last post of the first page
Anyway, no offence taken.
Though I stay at my point: maybe it's just you. You see, you didn't even notice youre CPU had a pin off (NOFI offcourse!) so maybe you didn't see that youre Vcore was at his highest. (Ehm, you didn't send your CPU to HF, did you? I ask before I say stupid things again :stick: ) Wich is BTW still discutable if this is the fault of HF or you, but anyway. And you did even buy your MM, you said, after you discovered youre mobo was dead. Everyone involved with vmods should have a MM, if you did the mod yourself or not (again, NOFI!)
Anyway, I still hope for you all youre probs will be solved soon.
PS: no I'm defenetly not HellFire himself :p Also no medium through wich he speakes or something :slap: I'm allready know on several Belgian and Dutch fora for some years; and I think you could allready see on my English I'm not native speaker :D
i did my 9800 pro with a removable volt mod.
works good. i only want to up the voltage when benching and under extreme cooling and didnt want it when on regular cooling. (water)

Good job, bro. But next time, post it in the right section and thread, please.
Malves, board looks great, have no P4 yet to test it, but i really hope it works cause the job u did looks very good. Boy I hope the board works.
Thanks again.
Sending that thing out to me?
Yeah was trying to find someone with a socket 478 P4 locally but everyone either is stone age or AMD. Sending a box out to you today. Thanks.
Got to thank Malves and BH2k for there help. got CPU from BH2k this weekend and just tried it and bang, booted first time. Now I know that the CPU had to be broken by hell-fire or in shipping(Which would be impossible, seeing how i packaged it) 8 months almost to the day from time sent to hell-fire to time it finally posted, insane. now I got an out of date board, no CPU and a Thermalright sp-94 he must have dropped from a window. I was really almost hoping board would have stayed dead, but thanks to malves she is good. I think I am being fair in asking Hell-Fire for my 70.00 for the mods that took 5 months and took Malves a weekend and he did as a favor. I am also asking him for 1/2 the price of my new CPU, guess around 80.00. I know allot of others are having trouble getting there stuff back still and especially money but I think thats fair, any judge in world would make him pay him pay for entire amount as it took 5 months and was broke when i recieved it back.
Like to really say thanks again to Malves and BH2K and all the others that started the process of getting everythying back for everyone. As we all know, Hell-Fire would have never been heared from again had it not been for Detective Neville, so a shout out to him also.
Not a problem bud, glad everything works for you :)
bh2k-
That was very nice of you to lend someone a processor to help solve a problem. People like you and Malves are what make XS the awesome forums it is. If I can ever help one of you two out, let me know.
Thanks both of you.
If anyone has any comment about, or directed to, HellFire - please get in touch with him personally through a PM. He is trying to work all this out. ;)
