very interesting, so it looks like the XL is faster per clock???Quote:

i hope they will make a seperate category for these XL's

mine at 450/600. need to remove stock heatsink and add this ati silencer 4 and see if the core speed will increase. over 400 points lower than that score of 6093. great score, my cpu speed was only at 2420mhz. it wouldnt make up that diffrence though.
Now i wonder if it was the card's fault. As you can see i was only running 1.5 on the processor. My motherboard decided to take up smoking in the cpu voltage area, wonder if it was causing other problems. I _always_ get the bum cards... trust me.Quote:

I thought I heard 15% OC on air was normal...
for a midrange card, that's incredible. I think we have the new overclockers card of choice here.
Although percentage wise it's still not touching my 6800 yet ( i got it from 325 to 440, which is a 35% increase.
AGP version will have a molex... I dont think the PCIE slot is providing enough power for serious OCing. I just need to find a way to get ~250 for my 6800nu and this thing is mine...
Oh and btw, at "near it's peak" the benches LOOKED nice.... minimal tearing and artie's...
I only had UT2k4 on this HDD, which looked good, of course (runs on mx440, too) will try some D3 or HL2 on it....

Supposedly, the pcb is extremely similar between x800xl and x850 family.... the read points and mods are the same....Quote:

Hopefully you'll try D3 with the newest drivers, I believe they should give an improvement :) With 6800/GTs swirling around ATI like sharks when it comes to D3, we dont want to de-value your oc ;)Quote:

80-100 huh? Heard it was 60... Guess I'm wrong. How much power does an X850XTPE draw?

Hats off to The Tech Report for always having Power Consumpton section in each of their GPU reviews.

yeah, good stuff! Power hungry bastages.... like i said, soldering on a molex appears to be no big deal... traces all look correct.Quote:

If you havent got it yet, dont be too sure that you'll get 1.6ns ram, few have gotten 2ns ram with the power connector Powercolor ones tooQuote:
VIVO (?), Dual DVI, Molex and 1.6ns mem.
BTW, this is th one at Newegg: Powercolor X800XL ...and yes ALL PowerColor X800XLs are VIVO ;)

you lucky!!! dual dvi and 1.6ns... damn i wish they will make that in the AGP version aswell
nice unrealneo, be sure to share your results with that card... will you vmod it too?
DOES ANYONE ELSE SEE WHAT I SEE????Quote:

HEY THAT THING HAS THE 6 PIN PCI-E POWER CONNECTOR!!
i bet it overclocks like a champ

Paxil help
Anyone have a diagram of where to solder on molex?
could you take some more closeup shots of different angles of around that PCI-E 6-pin molex area? Also the same area on the bottom of the card...this will point out if there are any missing components (other than the molex) that the other x800xl's have/don't have.
I have my x800xl sitting on a shelf...taunting me...until my A64, DFI Ulrta-D, and other parts come in. If there's no other or not many missing components for that power connector...I'll do that mod in a heartbeat!
use a multimeter and check to see if both sides of that SMD capacitor are touching the heatsink too.
considering that the x800xt uses only a little more power then the x800xl i would think that extra power connector will make all the difference in the world overclocking that card
