any places ship this stuff to australia?
here's a piccy of some genuine VX! Not bad eh!;)
even knowing that the "value ram" uses VX IC's, and they are a great price, I still like the idea of "knowing" I am getting hand tested IC's on my ram. Like Ryan say's, it's going to be a gamble, so I hope people don't get all sore when their "value vx" doesn't do 260 2-2-2.
liwid that screenie is good enough for me 265 @ 145$ is pretty sick nasty.
hell if i can get 250 im happy
We all know what VX can doQuote:

Seeing some people hit 240 or even 250 and not too many "bad" pairs would be enough for me

Is this the stuff right here?
no, the winbond utt has a 'W' on the end of the part number
when will this hit newegg?
I would like to know, how many of the VX fail the test (240 2-2-2 or whatever)?
Any info on that?
Just look at the TwinMOS DDR400 resultsQuote:

In the VX/UTT thread they all reach 240 @3.3V
250 2-2-2-8 @ 3.3vDimm is "ALMOST" guaranteed if you have a good AMD64 system :)
So that gives me a pretty good chance hitting 240 2-2-2 on a S754 rig when i buy 2 pairs i guess ;)Quote:

If you want a guarantee I would go with the VX 3200 guys.
We tend to be really loose on RMA'ing VX 3200 that doesnt meet peoples expectations (within reason of course).
I just dont want to see people unhappy if there not getting 250 , and I am sure many of these wont reach 240-250 ( only about 60% of the UTT pass the VX 3200 test spec in our in house testing )
On the other hand if your willing to take a gamble , or would be happy at something less considering the low price , then go for it.
Sorry if I sound cautious about this , but I am used to having all the potentialy sub-par parts screened out before shipping a product and doing something that it meant to compete on the low price really worries us.
Thanks for the info.Quote:

110€ is still extremely cheap for 1gig of ram, don`t think you can get 1gig under 90€ here (and surely no ocz with lifetime warranty @default specs), so that`s a maximum of 10-20€ loss per GB if they don`t go well and i resell them.
Still worth it i think ;)
Guess i`ll wait one more week to see the first benchies and call my US-friends ;)
thx 4 your support ryanpgroovy :bows:
hmm
I am just trying to be carefull , I mean yeilds vary but I want to show a worst case scenario here :-)
I do think many that dont do the VX 3200 test spec should still do 2-2-2 with the right voltage at decent speeds its just that if its untested you never know what your getting , for example it could max out at 210 2-2-2 or it could do 250 2-2-2.
Think about it guys, realisticly if only 60% pass their target for the normal VX line the other UTT has to go somewhere, out of the 40% that does'nt pass how much do you think will end up on the Value line ?
All of it, but if demand strips the supply then maybe they will start to use tested IC's.
As ryan said if you want 250 buy the right stuff or you maybe better off with chancing Twinmoss etc.
But I think he said that these ICs were completely untested. So you have a 60% chance of getting something good.Quote:

by my calculations if 100% of purchased IC's or however memory companies do it go into the pc3200 cheapo vx. so if 60% of purchased IC's go into VX, in order for ocz to make up for the lost IC's to speed binning, they must charge 233.33 if the cheapo is 140$. but its not like those that didn't pass get thrown out, they get thrown into pc2700 lines and so on.
vx at newegg is 245. so actually ocz is charging a pretty fair price for vx. but its not like they throw out the bad IC's which is how my calculations are done, they just put them in different memory.
Read the whole thread...

i was just saying that vx is pretty fairly priced, and if the 60% figure is true, then they are being fair with charging their speed binning premium.
i think the first quote was ryan's direct response to my question.
double checked: yes that first quote is right below my question to him. i read the thread.
Great deal on that value ram
Some peeps may even consider buying 2gig of that stuff instead of 1gig vx ;)
