16 Xeons total. If all of those are used 24/7 for D2OL then we are looking at an increase of around 2,400 candidates per day. :D So even if all of them aren't... hopefully we will see at least 1,500 candidates more per day. :up:Quote:

Im going to stock up on the chips before I get the mobos. My dealer in town will give me a decent price on the motherboards if I buy a few at once. If it's a really good deal, I'll post about it here.

When you say "alas, it will be my everyday system" that is good. I hope that doesn't mean you are thinking of not running d2ol with us. d2ol does not get in the way of running everyday stuff, including DVD burning. It is designed to eagerly get out of the way of YOUR use of your system. It is designed as a low priority process, it gracefully bows out of the way at the hint of activity on your part.
Soooo, please consider running d2ol with us, it is an extremely good cause and costs you nothing. The average PC costs $4-$6/month, in electricity, to run, 24/7.

That's what I had in mind :D Mind you, it would be in funky Canadian dollars, so I'd have to see how it would work out with the exchange and all that..see if it's worth it in the longrun.

2 months before I can lift anything heavier than a gallon of milk. Had fusion surgery on my back but the funny thing is they went through my stomach to get to my disk. yeah, hope you don't mess up your back again...mmm...a carrar...my plan is try and get a degree with something motherboard related...motherboard design would be nice...not sure tho. Anycomputer type places near you? Work at a place that repairs computers?

Ok, all of the Xeons shipping tomorrow have been tested with their stock voltage of 1.30v(which is really ~1.25v on the PC-DL) to 2.7GHz(208x13) singly and 2.7GHz(169x16) dual cpu. I ran Prime95, SuperPI, PiFast, and a single D2OL client for anywhere from 5 minutes to 30 minutes(when I ate dinner btw ;)). You need to increase Vcore in order to boot at 200MHz when running both cpus at the same time. I tried a couple of the sets with 1.6v and they both booted at 3.0GHz(200x15) without a problem.
These look like winners. :up:
Only down side is two of the cpus had badly bent pins. I did my best to straighten them out but I can't get them to go into the socket smoothly. I'm going to return these two to Gabriel and he's replacing them no questions asked. :) BTW, nobody will have to wait for this since I'll just send a set of my processors and then wait for the replacements. Not a problem.
