Hmmm. If you're open to suggestions, I'd like to see a water-cooled PSU. :DQuote:

Definitely. I'll be trimming the wires down to the lengths required by the components they will plug into. I'll also be removing any unused wires to keep it clean.
Thermaltake just came out with their power PSU . It's rated for 680watts and it has great rails . Its about 160 bucks which is not bad . Not sure how the quality is inside that PSU but 680watts sounds impressive.

3 12v rails with 15, 15, 8. Enermax 660W PSU has better rails than that (4 rails for those who use peltier I guess :P)
OT**jinu, did you try x850xtpe yet? :D ** OTQuote:

anyone how to adjust the internal pots on the zippy-6701? i've never done it on internal pots. i assume to turn off the psu, and turn the pot but how do u tell which pot goes to which rail?

open psu
plug it in (dont turn on yet)
jump the Green atx wire to any Black Wire.
use a multimeter (rat shack has decent ones for 20 or less) to plug in to 12/5/3
turn the pots a hair (do this while its off just to break any glue if they sealed them
then yurn the psu on and lightly! turn pot one and see which rail it changes (turn it like 1/4 turn or less, and move the MMeter in the 12/5/3v line tell u figure which one does which)
id assume the 12/5v pots will be next to eachother and the 3v will be alone.
heres the specs

thanks dissolved. i picked up a multimeter and the rails are fine, 3.39,5.12,12.19. like everyone's said the bios/software readings were waaay off.
Got mine - opened it - and the three rails have their own stabilization and trimming circuit.........5V and 3.3V rails have their trimmers next to each other , 12V rail has it's trimmer way off and about 3 - 4 cm away from the others.........MAX trimming was : 5V = 5.37V , 3.3V = 3.55V and 12V = 12.42V..........Not that bad..........BUT as I said before I've GOT to mod it........ :DQuote:

P.S.2 : IF anyone want's to buy it for quitness too............forget it........full speed big and fat 8 x 8cm fan.........For me that's PERFECT but for someone who wants it to be quite as well , he's got to mod it so as to be........... ;)
Let us know the mod result...Quote:

how exactly are you going to mod it? replace the pots? bypass them? and what about OVP?
and yea, its Deff not Quite, but its Not Screaming. its a server PSU and Server Rooms are never Quite.
that 700W Zippy looks awesome. 45A WOW :slobber:
dose anyone know a shop in Europe, that ships to Denmark?
Contact Zippy/Emacs Europe. From what I read recently, you can order from them directly. ;)
Where are you buying them? From Newegg?
Just wondering if they were cheaper anywhere else, they are $308 there.
You can find them for less...
$308 is absurd.
Neat psu, Looks mostly passive, except for the one fan of course.Quote:

i was thinking about placing a zalman fanmate in for the psu fan, is there any danger in doing this? the fanmate plugs into the 3pin fan plug on the pcb and has an out to the fan.
the issue with the zippy and dfi board is well known now, zippy's won't startup the mobo in the 4v vdimm setting. does anyone know if there's a way around this? i've got some ocz vx/utt that is begging for the zippy.
if there's no way to fix this issue i guess i have 2 options, turn up the pots on the zippy or wait for hipro maximizer! is there any danger to other components if i turn up the pot to 3.55?
finally, some comments on the zippy's appearance. i like the silver look, goes well with lian li cases. i also like the fact that it comes completely unsleeved. i like wiring my rig with the power cables running behind the mobo to keep the motherboard side of the case clean. with the main 24pin cables sleeved, it makes a lot difficult to do this. i'll take some pics with a digital camera to show you what i mean.
In order to switch the fan, I think your better off just vutting the wires on the current fan soldering the new one in. I dont think you can just plug it in.
