that's nice, mine isn't stable past 270mhz but I gotta try a few more things as wellQuote:

see if you can beat the top 2003 6800gt score now.
this is what you need to beat:

2500 over my 9800 score. I'll see what i can get out of my rig when it arrives. Hope i can crack my 9800 score :D

Has anyone done vdimm mod on this board, I have some BH5 and 2.8v is not enough.
not yet afaik, but has tended to be pretty easy with most gigabytes for a while now, think someone said the booster works fine , or that mighta been the msi. The ultra versions apparently has up to 3.1v in bios, hopefully a future release of bios might have higher voltage.
Here is the 3.3v to cap mod. :)Quote:

BH-5 loves this mod.

such a pain in the ass, from what i can tell, from trying lots of diff booting fsb's and diff methods of increasing fsb in clockgen, i can't boot at so many diff fsb's, for instance 230 doesn't work, nor did 267, 273 doesn't work, but loads inbetween don't work.
Is it possible the clockgenerator used just misses out lots of fsb and setting them causes freezing? cos theres no reason for 230 to not work but 272 works perfectly. Likewise from any bootable fsb from 200-272 if i increase fsb in clock gen 3 bits at a time which is just over 1.5Mhz(takes ages) it works, any more and it crashes, though if i do 6 bits at a time it works fine again. saying that maybe the usable fsb changes above 280mhz, as some fsb's seem to work and some don't, too random, i can run 282Mhz stable at 2.5,3,3,7 but can't seem to get higher with any other mem settings.
Also the new bios seemed to give me 10Mhz more, also adds a pre-optimised for certain mem types, kingston/winbond bh-5, twinmos with bh-5, tccc, infineon mem and one other i think. can't actually tell what it does though :p
Thanks guys, I did try the booster but the board would not boot although I will try another power supply first.
choseone214, with that mod is it possible to make any adjustment to v dimm or does it just remain constant?
It will be constant to what your 3.3v rail is set at. On the bright side the ram will only get better as It burns in and you will not get any voltage fluctuations at all unless your PSU is crappy.
The booster should work becasue it does just what the 3.3v to Cap mod does supplys voltage to pin 7.
As for gigabyte nf3-nf4 and cold booting or booting high fsb from bios I never had luck there. I always used clockgen and set it to overclock on startup. Some say you need to boot at 220mhz first in bios go to windows reboot and then go 240mzh then you can go higher. Not sure about this board though Opp seemed to have no issues on the MSI with bios high HTT posting, but all boards are different.
Changed to an Enermax power supply and it boots with the booster ok, trouble is the voltage goes from 2.5 up to 3.8 and back down again continuosly, I turned it off to investigate wtf going on there, I measured it at the mosfet aswell and that voltage was getin through to the ram :confused:Quote:

Its seems to be ok now so off to try the ram at more volts :D
lol, GL :)
Just received new BIOS F3a from Gigabyte Taiwan, you can download it here
Just got this board n the week 49 3200+
unable to oc yet because my new PDP patriot seems to be faulty because it fails memtest even w slack timing on 230Mhz so now running @stock 200 2-2-2-5
would test the memory elsewhere to confirm faulty b4 rma it
so had to test out next wk to c how this new baby rocks
Hello, new here, been following this thread.
Decided to go with this over the Chaintech (I have both). Got it installed last night and everything went well, except the damn keyboard (PS2) doesn't work I've read that a USB one does. Anyone know if the new bios fixes this? Really annoying can't complete my install.
thanks..now trying ...but had to notch up the vcore abit as stock is hovering around 1.39 only...fail even 1M super pi but ok after a 0.025up.....still trying. :p:Quote:

gigabyte easytune finally works with f2 bios, and it seems when chosing any fsb it clocks it to one fairly close to it and never seems to fail even with fairly large jumps, much better than clockgen on this, but i think it must be that lots of weird fsb's just don't work on this board. cheapass clockgen, weird bios's, who knows. just switched system to a 7700 zalman which is freaking huge, and fits great with mem in any slots and gfx is so far down i can fit the artic cooling sink i got for it fine. Also x800xt in there and so much faster for same price, nice. Will see what it can do now, ramping up with new week 46 3200+ aswell.
replace w a pair of corsair xms but still same. can only run w multiplier for 2.4Ghz. it seems the board don like to go higher htt ?
hit wall at 220 Mhz on 2225 and relax timing but can't get through this barrier. will the new bios help ?
thanks
First take chipset cooling off remove that awfal pad and set HTT in bios to 3x. The board will do 270-280mhz at the "LEAST" so your missing something. Try a 166mhz ddr ratio next if you haven't already. If that ram is BH-5 your wall could be that IMO as BH-5 seems to need voltage on these boards and the chipsets that run BH-5 and or the CPU's ddr controller need VDD to match the rams low latency and the 2.8v that alot of boards give won't get you very far.Quote:
