I went with a gig of the le myself that will be here Thursday! I can't wait to sslap those sticks in and crank down the timings.

From everything I have read and heard the le in 2x512 is the way to go.

Hi guys,

I've seen a lot of AMD benchies. But how do these do in Intel Systems?
I see that the LA's are reccommended for socket 939, but I was wondering how some of the results on Intel's look.

I just received the LE 2 x 512MB. It runs fine at the rated speed (2.5,3,3,7,. at 550DDR); however, I can not run Performance Acceleration Technology (PAT) on my Asus P4C800-E Deluxe motherboard. If I try, it will run for a while, then I get a high pitched squeel, and the system freezes.

Defective memory chip??? :confused:

squeel comming from motherboard or PSU?

Tight memory timings may be causing inceased current draw which would cause instabilities if your board or PSU cant supply enough power. Torroids are what "squeel" most often.

I have a monster PSU (PC Power & Cooling). Arguably one of the best (and most expesive) on the market. It holds rail voltages rock solid. I don't think it can be the PSU.

Assuming its not the PSU, what weak link do I look at next? Torroids???

torroids, capacitors, and mosfet used to deliver voltage to the memory.

I dont think TCCD does well under Intel. I don't even think that VX does that well under Intel, but I'm not sure about that one. I think the intel king for memory is still BH-5.

VX and TCCD do fine after playing with a bunch of options, just not at "stock" 100% of the time.

hmmmm so whats the real world impact of 2.5-3-3 to 3-4-4?

can somebody bench 3dmark2001 and 2003 with both settings at the same speed?
